Situated in a rural area of western Portugal, Villa Malhao is a rustic and homely property offering guests an idyllic and serene getaway in the heart of the countryside. With five bedrooms, a private pool and oodles of space, this villa accommodates up to nine guests comfortably and oozes family charm. Cosy, comfortable and homely are three words that come to mind when describing Villa Malhao. Rustic stone floors feature throughout, with lots of arches and traditional furnishings. The open plan living/dining area provides space for the whole group to spread out, with numerous lounge areas for guests to relax.
A functional and spacious kitchen provides plenty of prep space for cooking up delicious meals, and the lovely wooden dining table seats up to eight – perfect for casual dinner parties. This home features plenty of eclectic and quirky belongings collected over the years and provides a lovely home away from home for guests. A statement spiral staircase sits in the centre of the living space and leads up to five generous bedrooms. The bedrooms consist of a master bedroom containing a double bed, as well as three twin beds and one single. There are also five well-equipped bathrooms, meaning no fighting over who gets to use the shower first! Each of the bedrooms offers a comfortable private haven, and each of them has access to a balcony with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.  Outside, the fantastic curved pool has been built into the side of a rocky hill. With plenty of indulgent sun loungers, guests can top up their tan with a good book in hand while the kids splash about in the pool. An outdoor shower allows guests to cool off quickly, and a lush green lawn provides the perfect space for children to run around and play.
The terrace comes complete with shaded dining facilities and a built-in barbecue, fabulous for a spot of al fresco dining in the hot midday sun, or in the warm evening sunshine. There is also a roof terrace that can be accessed via external stairs, where guests can go for a moment of privacy. This rural villa offers guests a serene slice of heaven with fantastic facilities, and with the towns of Alvor and Portimão just a short drive away, there is something for everybody to enjoy at Villa Malhao.Villa Malhao is situated in a rural and secluded location, just 13km from Portimão and 12km from Alvor and the nearest beach. Guests can also find a golf course just 7km away. This is a fantastic destination for families who want a bit of everything from their holiday experience. Calm and peaceful, the village of Alvor provides a pleasant contrast to some of the Algarve’s livelier resorts. It’s still a popular choice, with its beautiful beaches, riverside cafés and traditional feel attracting many visitors. Tourists visit the Algarve for its golf courses, tennis clubs, water sports, historical background, beaches, hiking trails and restaurant & bars. For those looking for a night out, Portimão is known for having a great nightlife.  Carvoeiro, a popular resort town, is also about a half an hour drive away. Historically, Carvoeiro was a small-town fisherman village but is now developed into one of the most attractive holiday areas of Portugal, becoming a popular choice for travellers with so many hotels, tennis courts, golf resorts and activities to make use of. Rugged cliff and secluded coves give the beaches plenty of character, with unusual rock formations that have become attractions themselves.  You can take a boat trip to see the caves of Praia de Benagil, where a circular ‘eye’ opening gives way to a small beach hidden inside. Watersports ranging from windsurfing to scuba diving promise excitement under the sun not to mention the paintball, horse riding and sports centre in easy reach.
For a more relaxing day, two sprawling, beautiful golf courses are available for your pleasure: Vale do Milho Golf and Pestana Gramacho Golf. A day of pampering and luxury can also be sought from the local spas.
