Maison Des Cadres is a gorgeous country home, just 7km from the sandy beaches of St. Jean-de-Luz, with the picturesque La Rhune, one of the most dominant peaks of the Pyrénées, as a stunning backdrop and just half an hour from Biarritz.
Nestled in beautiful enclosed grounds, this five bedroom family home with spectacular views offers guests a relaxing and private setting. Indoors the décor is modern and colourful alongside many original features such as the stunning fireplace. The living space is light and airy with wonderful art adorning the walls; the perfect ambience to make use of the impressive home cinema system.
Outside there is a wonderful open terrace perfect for dining in the warm sun or enjoy a barbecue or a relaxing drink admiring the glorious French sunsets, while sampling some of the delicious local produce.
The large 60m2 swimming pool is perfect for a morning swim before breakfast as the sun comes up and is the best way to start the day.
The charming Basque village of Ascain is a five-minute drive away where you will find a small handful of restaurants in a picturesque setting whilst St Jean-de-Luz (7km) is the perfect place to enjoy the delights of the seaside or play a game of golf. 
Glamourous Biarritz and the Spanish border are also within striking distance whilst the glorious Pyrénées mountains offer spectacular activities such as hiking, cycling, horse-riding and more.
Maison Des Cadres is the perfect base to explore this wonderful part of south-west France and is great for all ages who can enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities and adventure. Maison Des Cadres is very well located in the heart of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, in beautiful Aquitaine, south-west France, near Biarritz and the Spanish border.
Just a few minutes by car is the picturesque village of Ascain (4km) where you will find a small supermarket and a handful of restaurants as well as charming Basque architecture and a beautiful Roman bridge crossing La Nivelle river.
You are also within easy reach of St Jean de Luz, where you will find some wonderful golf courses, wide sandy beaches and some amazing walks along the coast and surrounding hills. Explore the pretty streets filled with shops and restaurants before heading down to the port, known for its tuna, anchovies and sardines.
Heading back inland, just beyond Ascain towards the little village of Sare (8km), take the old wooden train up to the summit of La Rhune, one of the most dominant peaks of the Pyrénées, where there are some restaurants with incredible views as well as hiking opportunities.
Indeed, this whole region offers an extended range of outdoor activities, such as walking, horse-back riding, fishing, cycling, canoeing and many others including water-sports along the coast.
It’s only 25km to Biarritz where you can walk along the Grand Plage to the incredible Rocher of the Vierge peninsular or take the little Biarritz road-train along the coast. In the evenings, stroll through the town, discover St. Eugenie Square, have a drink marvelling at the little fishing port, dine in one of the numerous restaurants or simply taste a few of the specialities such as the local touron (marzipan), locally cured ham, mussels and more! From July to September you can watch games of the ball game ‘chistera’ often followed by traditional dances and chants.
The Basque beaches attract surfers of all categories from all over the world, but the Vieux Port in Biarritz is ideal for children and the Grand Plage in St. Jean de Luz, for debutants.
