Binibeca Bellini Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
This idyllic villa is absolutely perfect for families travelling together or groups of friends, as it has separate annexes yet plenty of communal space to dine and relax together. In total, there are six bedrooms that can sleep up to 12 guests. Head to the sundeck to make the most of the Menorcan sunshine.
Outside, there is a deep blue infinity plunge pool by a lawn area, perfect for a calming swim amongst nature. The pool is surrounded by lots of terrace space, and there are plenty of sun loungers for guest use. Those who love to cook outdoors will enjoy the barbecue, and there is a furnished porch with comfortable sofas overlooking the pool. At night, the villa is lit up, and the pool glows electric blue.
The first annexe has two double bedrooms with ensuites and living space with a television, while the second has a living space and a kitchenette. The main living room has chocolate coloured sofas with pastel cushions and colourful art on the walls. The floors are made of white marble, while fresh flowers are dotted around the space.
A fully-equipped kitchen is decked out all in white, with an electric hob and American fridge complete with an ice maker. Perfect for whipping up some home comforts or trying out some new recipes. Dine around the wooden table with its smart white chairs, or out on the terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. There is also a barbecue that guests can utilise.
Bedrooms are decorated in a fresh, neutral palette with colourful art that ties the rooms together, including an eye-catching Mondrian style piece. The beds have crisp, 300-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and have a variety of textured bedspreads. Pops of sage green and scatter cushions add extra depth.
Many of the rooms have the floor to ceiling windows, ensuring the rooms are bathed in light. The master bedroom has a lovely ocean view. Five of the rooms have ensuite marble bathrooms with ample dressing space, dual sinks and glass-encased showers.
The annexe living rooms have white sofas with floral and jade coloured soft furnishings that offset the modern glass coffee table. These areas ensure guests have their own breathing space and privacy. This villa is tucked away in a prime spot of Binibeca, modelled on a fishing village and made up of limestone houses and winding alleys. Just 500m from a blue-flag beach and close to plenty of activities to keep everyone busy, Binibeca is popular with local and international tourists alike and very family-friendly. In the village, there are restaurants, bars and a small commercial centre. Menorca itself has a more languid feel than some of the other Balearic islands like Majorca and Ibiza, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed holiday.
Binibeca is situated at the southeastern tip of Menorca close to its capital, Mahon. The boardwalk is a 2km-long stretch of cafes, boutiques and restaurants. Descend the steps to see the harbour, filled with luxury yachts. Take a one-hour boat trip around the island from here, where you will see ancient architecture and islets. Binibeca is backed by imposing sand dunes and overlooks the sea.
Nearby, there is a tiny uninhabited island called Illa de l’Aire, home to a striking 19th-century lighthouse. In the restaurants, you can sample some Menorquin delicacies like lobster stew, baked squid or octopus and sobrassada – paprika-spiced sausages. The island is famous for superb tapas, a great way to try a little of everything. Try some Xoriguer gin at the famous distillery here – you can take a tour and test some unique variations.
Binibeca beach has silky white sand and beautifully clear water, set against a backdrop of pine forestry and volcanic cliffs. In the same area, there are four other smaller coves – Binisafuller, Biniancolla, Biniparratx and Binidali, which are lovely, peaceful spots to visit. The area is also famous for diving, with a well-regarded diving school nearby.
Kayaking and snorkelling are also popular activities at Binibeca. However, the island has so many beaches you could try – in the north, check out Cala d’Algaiarens, an idyllic ribbon of sand among gorgeous blue water. This beach has its own cave and is also framed by pine trees — Head behind the main beach for a quieter experience. However, the island’s best-kept secret has to be Cala Escorxada, accessed by a one hour hike from Santo Tomas. Follow the coastal route to be rewarded with a tranquil beach with glittering turquoise water.
To get a superb panoramic view of the island, head to El Toro, Menorca’s brooding highest peak. There is a moderate 2-hour hike to reach the summit, but the view is worth it. From El Toro, adventurous guests can try out the most unique way to see the island – paragliding above it. Glide in tandem with an experienced instructor back to the ground – it will truly be an unforgettable experience.
Jeep Safari Menorca is the perfect introduction to the island’s wildlife. Local guides take groups of passengers in 4x4s around the backroads and hidden gems of the island to showcase an array of flora and fauna. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about local life and the animals that inhabit the island, such as the black Menorquin horse.
