Cala Jondal, one of Ibiza’s most popular destination beaches, is only ten minutes away or the sights and sounds of San Antonio Bay are just twelve minutes’ drive.Set in the foothills of Sa Talaia; Ibiza’s highest mountain, Villa Esperanza’s surrounding landscape rises and falls all the way down to the western coast. San Jose village, despite its small size, is popular with tourists and boasts a surprising number of restaurants, bars and shops. Local traditions and steadfast residents have succeeded in preserving San Jose’s character and reassuringly relaxed, Ibizan way of life. Saturday mornings will see the square fill with market stalls selling local produce such as bread, pastries and fruit. You’ll also find gifts and souvenirs amongst the craft stalls loaded with ceramics, jewellery and artwork. Most eateries are found along the main street or lanes running off it. Promenade around this area at dinner time and stop wherever the menus tempt your palette. From pizza to seafood, cocktails to tapas, the choice is mouth-watering. El Destino is a must-visit restaurant, patronised by locals and visitors alike. For a day at the beach, head south from Villa Esperanza to Cala Jondal for a smart and stunning beach experience, where water sports, parasols, bars and shops are within easy reach of the shore. Yachts often moor here, tempted by the turquoise waters and white sand. Equally gorgeous and with an even longer stretch of sand, Cala Tarida is family-friendly and well served with facilities.
