Casa Golondrina Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
Casa Golondrina has the perfect location, sitting high above the March Valley (Val D’en March) close to Pollensa, with views over the Mediterannean – gives it a feeling of being in another world far removed from the hubbub of everyday life. It is also a working estate – producing an artisanal extra virgin oil that is organic and “slow food” registered.
The estate consists of 3 properties – The main house ( 6 bedrooms, sleeps 12 adults and 2 children ), Villa Atalaya ( 2 bedrooms ) and Villa Son Duri ( 3 bedrooms ). All 3 properties are independent and can be rented individually. The main house can accommodate up to three families or multiple guests comfortably. The maximum accommodation is 19 people (we charge 500 euros/person/week for each additional person over 12). There is also a separate adjoining apartment with a big kitchen and two bedrooms that can be rented with the house in peak season or on its own during low season months.
The main house is surrounded by majestic oaks and sweeping terraces of olive trees. During the morning and evening, white doves fly through the air in acrobatic feats. At night, hoot owls can be heard calling to one another nearby. But the best sound of all is the sound of sheep bells tinkling, reminding us how truly peaceful this place is. The house is approximately 1300 square meters and is built around two interior courtyards that flow seamlessly with the interior. These large patios are complemented by comfortable rooms, quiet nooks and the house’s historic features such as the olive press and Moorish tower.
The owners have recently renovated a great deal of the house and grounds. All the renovations were done meticulously with an eye to retaining the house’s charm but to including all the modern conveniences. Behind the house are extensive gardens that lead to a large orchard and green garden.
The newly renovated main kitchen has a Cornu Fe cookstove and a large double door refrigerator. The fireplace and underfloor heating make this room a cosy room in winter.
This patio was formerly for washing, cooking, and making olive oil. The tower to the left dates back to the 13th Century and was the first edifice built on the estate.
The dining room overlooks the main patio and a view over the valley. It comfortably seats 10 and an additional table can be added to seat more. It has a working fireplace.
The salon is a comfortable room for reading and playing games. It connects to the east and west patios through doors at the front of the room.

Casa Golondrina is an perfect destination for groups interested in painting, cooking, bird watching, yoga or simply for a relaxing get away retreat. We can help you to connect to our rich community of teachers and services in the Pollensa area.
Also the property can be rented as a site for weddings, retreats, and business meetings. Tables that accommodate up to 100 guests can be set up on the stone patios in front of the house or down in the lawn in front. The Atalaya can be used as a meeting venue as well as for smaller wedding ceremonies.
Around the olive harvest time, we can help organize a pressing for your group. The olives from our trees are collected by hand using nets and sticks, much as they have been for generations. These trees produce less fruit than a modern, often irrigated, orchards, but the concentration of oil within the olive makes it well worth the effort to keep the traditional production alive. While we maintain an historic press on the property, we are first in line on Monday mornings to press our olives at a nearby, modern centrifugal press.
The estate also has two other houses – Villa Atalaya ( 2 bedrooms ) and Villa Son Duri ( 3 bedrooms ).
Villa Atalaya – 2 bedrooms – currently owner is not taking bookingsDesigned to host seminars and research on conservation issues, it resembles a large hunting lodge of days past, complete with a 3 meter fireplace. It also has a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms, a stone patio that runs the length of the hall, and a breakfast patio on the east side off the main bedroom.
