Binibeca Des Timo Spain

Luxury Villas
| 4 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

This elegant villa is part of Binibeca Bay, the newest development from Binibeca Hills, just moments from the glittering sea. Designed to be an oasis of calm in which to relax with family and friends, Binibeca Des Timo is decorated in a chic, unfussy style, with vintage-style furniture and glossy marble floors. This four-bedroom villa is spread across one level, so this would suit those with mobility requirements. The villa’s walls are made entirely from glass with black frames and fluttering white curtains for privacy.

Outside, there is an expansive lawn where the whole family can relax and play games together, which encompasses a sparkling private pool. With refreshing aquamarine water, a swim in this plunge pool is a perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon. In this area there are lots of sun loungers, a furnished porch with cosy sofas to curl up on, as well as day-bed style loungers. On the roof, there is a jacuzzi, where guests can enjoy their complimentary champagne and admire the lush views.

Step into the calming living room, which has plenty of comfortable sofas, alongside a pair of zigzag-patterned green armchairs and cylindrical stools. Thanks to the glass walls, guests can enjoy beautiful views of the garden outside and lots of natural light. The lounge is spacious and open-plan. Just beyond the living room, guests can dine around the wooden table on frame-style chairs. Look up to the exaggerated, wooden lampshade and admire the intricate dark wood dresser – this villa draws inspiration from natural materials. Guests can also dine outside on the terrace.

The kitchen is decorated in cheerful peacock blue, contrasting with the otherwise neutral theme of the villa. Here, you’ll find everything you need for self-catering, including an oven and lots of cupboard space.

Bedrooms are a muted, sophisticated affair, with splashes of sage green and floral print on the headboards. The linen is made from 300-thread count Egyptian cotton, ideal for a restful night’s sleep. Colourful valances on the beds add a pop of colour, while classic black framed art hangs on the walls. Some of the rooms have their own plush armchairs to relax in. Bathrooms are decked out in marble – some of them have two luxurious showers and a bathtub.

This villa is part of Binibeca Bay, the brand new development of Binibeca Hills, which is delightfully close to the sea and has a charming, family-friendly atmosphere. The area itself is called Binibeca Vell, which was tastefully restored in 1972 thanks to its popularity with domestic and international tourists. Binibeca has a backdrop of sand dunes and overlooks a little uninhabited island called Illa de l’Aire, home to a 19th-century lighthouse.

The village is made up of a warren of winding streets and lovely limestone houses. Menorca as an island, has a more leisurely feel and a slower pace than some of the other Balearic Islands. However, those in search of adventure will not be disappointed. There are several water parks, a lovely harbour and many opportunities to observe local wildlife. Menorca is encircled by 216km of coastline and there is a dazzling array of ‘calas’ or coves nearby.

Around Binibeca beach, there are the coves of Biniancolla, Binisafuller, Biniparratx and Binidali to explore. The main beach is made up of gently sloping white sand, crystalline, warm water and with a backdrop of picturesque volcanic cliffs and forestry. Those interested in diving will be pleased to know there is a great diving school where you can explore an underwater shipwreck. Snorkelling and kayaking are also popular activities at Binibeca, as you can spot exotic fish and sea life.
Another great beach to check out is Cala d’ Algaiarens in the north of the island, with irs own cave, lapis-coloured water and a ribbon of silky white sand. The best spot is behind the main beach, surrounded by pine trees.

One of the best attractions nearby is the harbour of Mao, a 2km-long stretch lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries in the island’s capital, Mahon. Descend the steps of the harbour to spot luxury yachts and visit the famous gin distillery. Here, guests can take a tour and sample interesting flavours of Xoriguer gin. Local Menorquin delicacies to try include lobster stew, baked squid or octopus and sobrassada – paprika-spiced sausages. Menorca is also famous for tapas, a great way to try some of everything. At the harbour, guests can book onto a one-hour boat trip, spotting islets and fascinating architecture along the way.

For a thrilling introduction to the island’s indigenous wildlife, book onto Jeep Safari Menorca. Local guides take groups of passengers in 4x4s around the backroads and hidden gems of the island to spot flora and fauna. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about local life and the animals that call it home, such as the black Menorquin horse.

To get a superb panoramic view of the island, head to El Toro, Menorca’s highest peak. To reach the top, there is a moderate 2 hour hike. From here, adventurous guests can go paragliding above the island. Glide in tandem with an experienced instructor back to the ground.
