Le Bloc Blanc is a beautiful, contemporary villa set in the heart of the stunning pine forests in a nine-hole golf resort near the town of La Palmyre. With the sea within a short walk and a golf course on your doorstep, this is a wonderful place to relax in this stunning part of the Atlantic coast.
Constructed very recently, the owners have ensured Le Bloc Blanc has been designed with luxurious furnishings and brilliant features which is evident through the light and airy open-plan living space which opens up to a beautiful decked terrace perfect for outdoor lounging and al-fresco dining. The dazzling swimming pool awaits you on lazy afternoons or simply relax in a hammock in the shade of the trees. You are surrounded by the natural landscapes of the region where you can feel the sand between your toes and view the glorious pines and golf course beyond.
You are just 300m from the beach and there’s a nearby restaurant on the golf resort or you can drive a few minutes into nearby La Palmyre with its boulangerie, shops and restaurants. This coastline has some wonderful sandy beaches, beautiful pine forests to explore by foot, horse-back or bike and endless activities for young and old. Known as the Côte Sauvage, watersport enthusiasts can learn to surf or you can simply watch the world go by from one of the local beach boulevards or cafes overlooking the sea.
Families will adore the nearby zoo and bouncy castle park whilst all ages will love exploring delightful local towns like Royan with its daily market where you can pick up the catch of the day if you arrive early enough. Sample freshly caught oysters on the idyllic L’île d’Oléron, connected to the mainland by a bridge or within a couple of hours you can head south to the vibrant city of Bordeaux.
Whether pottering down to the beach, trying one of the endless local activities or appreciating the surrounding nature, Le Bloc Blanc is a stunning and very relaxing home from which to explore this fascinating region. Le Bloc Blanc is set in the heart of a beautiful pine forest in a golf resort, just 100m to a nine-hole golf course and 300m from the sea and beach. There’s a restaurant in the resort within a short walk or you can find a further choice within a short drive.
The nearest village is just over five minutes by car where you will find a bakery, restaurants, cafes and shops. This coastline has some wonderful sandy beaches, beautiful pine forests to explore and endless activities for young and old. Head slightly along the coast and visit the lighthouse at La Coubre before heading to the sheltered beach or simply sitting in a café or restaurant watching the boats go by.
This is a really family friendly area with so many activities nearby such as the impressive Zoo, just a few minutes by car and a paintball centre even closer! Luna Park (7km) is about fifteen minutes away, open in July and August from 8pm in the evenings for amazing fireworks and attractions whilst Youpiland is just the other side of the village, better suited to younger kids during the day with all sorts of bouncy-castles and more.  
For golf-lovers, as well as the on-site golf course there is a larger 18-hole golf-course in Royan (18km). There is also tennis, horse-riding in the forests and a great variety of watersports nearby from kite-surfing to wind-surfing (waves can get quite big along this coastline, known as Côte Sauvage). If you would like to learn how to surf there are plenty of surf schools nearby.
You can also hire bikes near the village and there are cycle paths near the villa and beyond or you may just prefer to walk along the nearby beach boulevards or through the pine forests. Indeed, this is an excellent region for hikers with some stunning trails to follow including the GR4 between Royan and Ronce-les-Bains via the amazing pine forests (Forêt de la Coubre).
If you wish to go exploring then there is a wealth of places you can visit. Taste freshly caught oysters in La Tremblade (14km) or head to the fascinating L’île d’Oléron, connected to the mainland by a bridge, also an amazing place for shell-fish. A haven for walkers and cyclists, you can explore the island’s landscapes of pine forests, salt-beds and sand dunes and discovering pretty villages and sandy beaches.
Delightful Royan (18km) is full of colourful houses, upmarket shops and a lovely covered market open every morning (get there early to get the freshest fish) as well as some fine sandy beaches, very popular with the French.
Further north is the fascinating town of Rochefort (46km) with its interesting maritime history whilst to the south is the vibrant city of Bordeaux (136km), just over two hours away by car, where you can explore the brilliant shops and visit the riverside Cité-du-Vin.
