A wonderfully comfortable villa which can accommodate up to 12 guests, Villa Filo lies a little over 2km from the popular resort of Calpe on Spain’s Costa Blanca. Its spacious terrace and large pool provide the perfect location for days in the sun and friendly night-time gatherings.
Villa Filo sets you 1.8km from the sandy Arenal Beach and has restaurants and shops within a short walk. With sea views, this superbly appointed villa also lies within reach of lovely areas like Moraira and Altea, with all the attractions of Benidorm just down the coast.
The property features a host of attractive outdoor spaces. As well as the magnificent pool, you have a barbecue, pool house and pergola, as well as a terrace lined with sun loungers. A spacious dining area gets a direct view of the pool and offers enough room for all 12 of you to dine together.
The interior of the house is just as enticing and features another dining space with a lovely outlook towards the Rock of Ifach. The lounge is light and refreshing, with lots of comfy seating and a flatscreen TV with satellite channels. Your kitchen is equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and large fridge freezer.
On the same floor, you have two double bedrooms and a twin, while on the lower ground floor there are three more – a double and two twins – plus a living area with sofa-bed. This floor is accessed via an exterior staircase. There are also four bathrooms at this villa.
Calpe continues to be a popular family destination, with great beaches, an aquarium and lots of entertainment to discover. You will find bars, clubs and restaurants in Calpe, as well as a pretty Old Town with some historic buildings and museums. The attractive marina also provides the opportunity for water-sports or boat excursions.Right by the sea, the Costa Blanca village of Calpe is a well-known holiday destination on Spain’s eastern coast. Just under an hour from Alicante and 30 minutes from Benidorm, it enjoys an excellent location where the views are spectacular, and the area lends itself to vigorous outdoor activity as well as lounging on the beach.
The centre of Calpe is well-equipped for visitors, with a supermarket, post office, bank and some specialist shops. Of course, you will find plenty of restaurants and bars, and the full range of cuisine on offer will present no end of tempting dilemmas.
Mediterranean dishes make great use of meat, fish, rice and olive oil, so there will be plenty of hearty options on most menus. The region’s wines are pretty good too and will make a great accompaniment to your meal.
Among Calpe’s other amenities are a cinema, aquatic centre and a fitness centre with sauna, but there is also plenty of historical interest to see, including the ancient town walls and the Iglesia Vieja church. Look out, too, for the Fiestas Museum and Museum of Archaeology, both in the centre of town.
Calpe Marina is the place to go if you fancy exploring the Costa Blanca by boat. You could also try water-skiing, windsurfing or many other aquatic activities.
Twice-weekly markets give you more to explore, and the fiestas in early August and late October are not to be missed if you’re lucky enough to be around.
