Villa Indah Indonesia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Boasting an incredible pool panorama, sleek Villa Indah just a few steps from the bedrooms to the enormous swimming pool. The picturesque 15-acre garden feels just like a private orchard filled with flowering trees and plants. The full-size azure swimming pool has enough space for everyone to swim while admiring the scenery.
Fringed on one side by greenery dotted with bright pink tropical flowers, it really is a beautiful place to cool off. There’s a seating lounge with comfortable orange sofas under a shaded canopy so that you can keep an eye on little ones practising their swimming skills. There are also sunbeds made from wicker in an unusual curved shape, perfect for topping up your tan. In the evening, you can enjoy famous Balinese sunsets from the comfort of the pool.
Inside the airy open plan living space, you’ll find a compact yet well-stocked kitchen for self-catering. There’s an L-shaped breakfast bar, as well as a dining table that can seat up to eight people in cosy wicker chairs.
Perfectly blending neutral colours and quirky accessories, the villa is decorated in an industrial chic style with modern lines. Colourful chairs and art adorn the front wall, while dark exposed beams on the high ceilings add a classic touch. Stylish black pendant lighting adds depth. One of the most striking features of this room is the shiny black statue of a soldier. Designed to be a minimalist haven, the four bedrooms are fresh and inviting. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure they are bathed in natural light.
Decorated with exposed brick to add a natural spin. In one of the rooms, there is a small statue of the Buddha, for a touch of Balinese spirituality. The extra large beds with crisp white sheets and cosy cushions provide the ultimate in relaxation after a long day. In the master bedroom, there is a shiny white table and fluffy grey chests where you can pack everything away. These also double as extra seating space. Villa Indah is conveniently located in Ungasan. Tucked away at the southernmost tip of Bali in the naturally beautiful Bukit area, near plenty of amenities. It’s a little more under the radar than other areas of Bali, so guests have a more peaceful, local experience. At the same time, it’s not too far to take day trips to Seminyak or Canggu.
One of Bali’s most recognisable landmarks, Pura Uluwatu temple is in the nearby area. Supremely popular with photographers, the 11th-century sea temple is nestled atop craggy limestone cliffs and is particularly lovely at sunset. The temple hosts Kecak fire dance shows every evening that tells the story of Ratnayana through dance and chanting.
The dancers wear beautiful costumes, and visitors wear a sash on the hip to show respect in the temple. Being part of the ceremonies is a really special way to get acquainted with the spirituality of Balinese culture. For an amazing viewpoint over Bali, head to the nearby Malasti Cliffs with its rugged rock formations. Near to Malasti, thrill-seekers can try their hand at paragliding, as the southerly winds from May to October are perfect. You’ll go in tandem with an instructor and get an unparalleled view of Bukit from above.
Green Bowl Beach, named after its vibrant algae-covered rocks, is also located in the vicinity. A lovely ribbon of white sand laps crystalline waters, and it’s one of the most chilled out beaches in Bali. It’s accessed by a steep set of stairs, and because the resort that used to be here has been abandoned, seldom visited by tourists.
The Bukit area is famous for its local seafood market – get up early to buy some of the day’s fresh lobster, squid and matu matu. You can get this barbecued here or take it back to the villa to create your own seafood feast. It’s a great way to meet some locals.
Additionally, Ungasan is close to Garuda Wishu Kencana, a cultural park that celebrates the arts and spirituality of Bali. Here, you’ll find the world’s biggest and highest statue. There are two depictions of the Hindu god Vishnu, on one he is riding a mythical bird. There are also fire dances here, a fountain said to have healing powers and at 260 metres above sea level, gorgeous surrounding views.
Art lovers will adore the Bukit area, as you can visit the Jenggala Gallery and see local craftspeople at work making ceramics, buy some pots as souvenirs and even take a pottery class. Anyone interested in Asian or Indonesian art should also check out the Museum Pasifika. You can make your own perfume at the L’Atelier Parfums et Creations. Professional parfumiers will help you create your signature scent and make a bottle for you to take home with you.
From Bukit, you can drive to Seminyak, Bali’s premiere upscale beach resort. A playground for jet-setters, fashionistas and yogis, it’s full of fashionable boutiques where you can shop til you drop and delightfully fancy spas. Indulge in a quintessentially Balinese massage and spend the day getting pampered. Seminyak has an excellent nightlife, atmospheric cocktail huts and superb sundowners at beach clubs. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
