Villa Intan Indonesia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Design inspiration from Sumatran, Kalimantan and Flores architecture has culminated in the creation of this extraordinary beachside bungalow. Hidden among palm groves and a luscious tropical garden in the quiet location of Tabanan, it’s the perfect retreat for those who need some relaxation.
Spirituality resonates throughout the villa – in Balinese culture, houses are traditionally made from natural materials in order to harmonise with the environment. This is reinforced with the religious sculpture that adorns the bedroom wall.
Designed from dark wood interior walls and flooring, the villa is decorated with traditional patterned and carved panels. In the living room, recline into the unusual woven armchairs and sofas and play a game together – don’t miss the stunning stone centrepiece! There’s ample space to eat together around the dining table on the terrace.
Ascend the wooden spiral staircase to find two bedrooms that can sleep up to four people. The comfortable beds have white privacy curtains, rich textiles and a colourful wooden headboard. The antique furniture creates a romantic feel, while the miniature hollowed-out tree bedside tables are just stunning. Quirky accents of colour add a modern touch, such as the lime green lamp, framed art and bright cushions.
Both rooms have exquisite ensuite bathrooms. Simple yet ornate, there’s a beautiful stone sink and a panelled mirror that is just gorgeous. A pale wood shower offsets the dark wood, while the silver accessories ooze glamour.
The villa gives the impression of a very elegant treehouse, surrounded by nature. Floor to ceiling windows all around makes sure the villa is bathed in light. The lovely wooden swing in the garden is an ideal spot to unwind or read a book. The swirly pool design adds a modern, interesting touch – you’ll love relaxing in the cool, refreshing waters. When you’ve finished swimming, there are sunbeds by the pool to sip a cocktail or admire the expansive view of vast rice fields. The villa is located just a few minutes’ walk from Pasut, a beach with dramatic black volcanic sand and a private wooden pier. In the day, enjoy swimming and sunbathing, but the beach is really famous for its epic sundowners through a canopy of swaying palm trees. It’s a great place to bring a picnic and watch the sky light up. Look out for one special crooked palm tree that has become a known photo spot over the last few years.
Tabanan is a peaceful part of Bali that flies a little more under the radar than other areas of Bali. However, there are plenty of stunning natural attractions nearby, such as the famous Jutilwah rice terraces at the foot of Mount Batakuru. Enjoy the sweeping vistas of lush greenery as you stroll through the fields that were a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate. Expansive tea plantations dot the landscape – why not take a tour, learn about how it’s produced and of course sample a range of delicious teas.
Hidden away and impossibly beautiful, Blemantung Waterfall is a great spot for a day trip. This 50m-high cascade into a green lake is Bali’s best-kept secret. Receiving far fewer visitors than other waterfalls in Bali like Git Git, you might even have it all to yourself.
Bali is home to many enchanting temples – a nearby wonder is Ulun Danu Bratan, a Hindu temple on the shoreline of Lake Bratan. Historically, worshippers gave offerings to the river goddess Dewi Danu to keep the river thriving for irrigation. Take a boat trip out here and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
Seminyak, Bali’s premiere upscale beach resort is just a short drive away. A playground for jet-setters, fashionistas and yogis, it’s full of stylish boutiques where you can shop til you drop and delightfully fancy spas. Indulge in a quintessentially Balinese massage and spend the day getting pampered. Seminyak has an excellent nightlife, great cafes and superb sundowners at beach clubs.
Another fantastic area of Bali to visit is Canggu. Lively yet laid back, it’s full of beach clubs and paddy fields. The beaches of Echo and Canggu also have popular surf breaks – you can walk along Seminyak to Canggu, stopping at atmospheric cocktail huts along the way.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
