Villa Kartika Indonesia

Luxury Villas
|3 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Villa Kartika is an elegant and harmonious space in a serene location. Inspired by Balinese heritage fused with modern design, this villa is decorated with plenty of traditional wooden carvings. Starting outside, there is a hugely intricate religious sculpture on the terrace that extends almost to the ceiling – it really adds character to the villa.
The enormous turquoise pool features a garden area and stone feature walls at one end, while the other side faces the property. Landscaped to perfection, with a paved area by the pool, the garden is full of exotic plants and foliage.
A unique curved tree overlooks the pool, which is also watched over by two charming white marble elephant statues, one of which sprays water into the pool from its trunk! There’s plenty of space for everyone to swim here without getting in each others’ way – a real blessing for families with children!
The terrace has a lovely natural wooden dining table with enchanting accessories, such as a ludicrously ornate fruit bowl. There’s enough space for six people to eat here, whether you’re taking advantage of the handy kitchen or enjoying a meal from one of the area’s superb cafes. The green sofa is also a great area to curl up with a good book or enjoy watching a movie.
Step straight through the floor to ceiling glass doors to discover the welcoming and cosy bedrooms. Decked out with wooden furniture, adorned with beautifully carved details, it’ll instantly feel like home. The beds have crisp white linen that contrast with rich textile bedspreads and heritage art adorns the walls. From the day bed, you can admire the beautiful garden. All the details contribute to a luxurious yet chilled out atmosphere.
Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with natural stone details that help to bring the outside in. The grey stone shower area contrasts perfectly with the neutral tiles and wooden aesthetic.
The villa is bathed in light throughout the day, and illuminated with ambient lighting at night. There are friendly reception staff available 24 hours a day, who can arrange in-house massages and room service. The villa is located in Sanur, one of the most authentic and quiet areas of Bali. While it’s known as the original Balinese holiday destination, Sanur has managed to retain its charm as a quaint seaside town. Popular with expats and families, it offers a more serene vibe on the southeast edge of the island, but it’s not too far to drive to the glamorous hotspot of Seminyak or surfer beaches of Canggu.
There are plenty of unique attractions in the surrounding area. Sanur is known for being a great place to try kitesurfing. Thrill-seekers can take a lesson from one of the many instructors around the town and fly through and above the deep blue water, powered by the strong winds.
The oldest artefact in Bali –  the Blanjong Pillar – is found in Sanur. Thought to be a victory monument to celebrate the first King of Bali, it dates back to 914 AD and has a special inscription in Sanskrit and Balinese. In the same place, you’ll also find ancient sandstone statues of Lord Ganesh and animals.
The beaches around Sanur have pristine golden sand beaches, including Pantai Indah which is a local favourite. Swim, sunbathe and snorkel here in peace. While there are many beaches in Bali considered to be a surfer’s paradise, the waters here are clear and calm. There are surf schools dotted around the island who can help organise lessons or point you in the right direction to ride some waves.
There’s a lovely promenade that wraps around the coastline that’s a popular lookout spot, especially at sunset. Traditional boats bob along the shore, and there are plenty of cafes along the way where you can take a rest. Sunar has excellent fresh seafood, great gelato and in the evening bars offer live music.
Museum Le Mayeur celebrates the life of a famous Belgian expat, Adrien-Jean le Mayeur de Mepres and his Balinese wife. His wife was a dancer and inspired many of his famous paintings, which you can see inside their former living quarters. Art lovers will also enjoy the Griya Santrian Gallery, whose ever-changing exhibitions include ceramics, photography and paintings. It’s located inside a boutique hotel of the same name. On the island of Serangan, just 3km away, you can visit the Turtle Island Conservation Centre. There’s a fantastic and educational visitor centre where you can get an insight into how society protects Bali’s endangered sea turtles. Functioning as a hatchery, nursery and sanctuary for turtles accidentally caught by fishermen, it’s a hugely popular family day out.
From Sanur, you can drive to Seminyak, Bali’s premiere upscale beach resort. A playground for jet-setters, fashionistas and yogis, it’s full of fashionable boutiques where you can shop til you drop and delightfully fancy spas. Indulge in a quintessentially Balinese massage and spend the day getting pampered. Seminyak has an excellent nightlife, atmospheric cocktail huts and superb sundowners at beach clubs. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
