Villa Simona Oasis Indonesia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Between two sacred streams in the heart of Canggu, within a lush tropical garden setting, this villa is a stylish haven made for design lovers. Spanning over 5000 square metres and incorporating an exclusive spa pavilion, the villa was created by renowned interior designer Elaina Myers of 4 Corners International. Wood and white with monochrome contemporary furniture is a motif through the rooms, from the inlaid zigzag design on cupboards to the carved centrepiece in the dining room.
Outside, a sparkling pool surrounded wooden decking is adorned with sunbeds and a traditional poolside bale with daybeds provides a place to cool down and relax with a good book. In a typical Balinese style, the villa features lots of wood and natural materials in order to reflect the environment.
Fragrant coconut, mango and papaya trees fringe the edges of the property and in the distance, a small temple lies atop the river where you can observe daily rituals. There’s an abundance of garden space and superb views of lush greenery that stretches across the horizon.Bedrooms are pavilion style, with five rooms that sleep, 10 people. Secret walkways connect the rooms, providing privacy within open plan living – perfect for families travelling together who like breathing space. Across the five bedrooms, there are three king size beds, one queen and one convertible twin to king size bed. These are dressed in fine linen with glorious patterned bedspreads.
In the master bedroom, there is a writing desk, a Chinese opium bed with pastel geometric cushions and antique wooden paddles on the wall. Smart ensuite bathrooms have white archways and double vanities, as well as freestanding tubs and alfresco showers. One guest bedroom even has a private jacuzzi on the balcony.
Around the dining table, black and white circular chairs provide a stylish place to enjoy a delicious meal – look up to the stunning flower petal lampshades. Indulge in a Balinese massage from a talented therapist in the charming conical spa pavilions. At night, the villa is illuminated by night, dressing the villa in a golden light. The location of this property is just perfect – in Pagang Linjong village at the heart of Canggu, close to expansive rice fields and bewitching beaches. Fabled Echo beach is just 15 minutes’ walk from the villa – here you’ll find excellent surf, glittering black volcanic sand and nightly seafood barbecues.
Canggu is surrounded by mystical rice paddies that stretch as far as the eye can see. A great way to experience the lush landscape is by bicycle – take a trip down the Shortcut, which is a beautiful path through the plantations. Just be careful when you move to the side to let others pass, or you might end up in the locals’ book of falls! Additionally, Pererenan and Seseh are excellent for a cycle through layers and layers of greenery.
A great street to explore nearby is Jalan Pantai Batubolong, an up and coming enclave of spas and boutiques, cosy cafes and hip bars. Around Canggu, indulge in a soothing, traditional Balinese massage at a fancy spa, and on Sundays, head to La Laguna gipsy market for organic and eco-friendly products and traditional handicrafts, to the soundtrack of live music. A special place to practise yoga nearby is Desa Seni, an eco-friendly resort that celebrates Indonesian culture and art.
Glitzy Seminyak is just a short drive away, where you’ll find an upscale beach resort vibe and an irresistible atmosphere from dawn till dusk. Dotted with fashionable boutiques and world-class restaurants, it’s a place to enjoy the finer things in life. Seminyak beach is also popular with surfers due to the powerful waves along with the long beach break. If you’d like to try surfing for yourself, there are numerous surf schools for you to learn from the pros.
Art lovers will love the hip galleries around Seminyak, such as Biasa ArtSpace – at the forefront of contemporary Indonesian art – such as installations of brass head busts with red eyes. Hotel Tugu Bali is an interesting museum-hotel hybrid full of priceless Indonesian art and antiques. Here, there’s also a fabulous award-winning spa offering traditional Eastern therapies, so it’s an ideal place to spend a leisurely afternoon.
Bali is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ and after visiting some of the mesmerising temples, you’ll find out why. Take a drive to Pura Tanah Lot, a religious site perched high atop a wave-lashed rock formation. It’s believed that the temple here protects Bali from evil sea spirits. Pura Tanah Lot is also a popular spot for sunset. However, to truly observe the power of the sea temple, visit early in the morning and witness an offering ceremony. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
