In a jungle-clad setting, perched above a river valley, this villa cascades beautifully down the two hectares of the hillside in a truly unique fashion. Made up of individual pavilions that jostle with gorgeous Balinese gardens filled with exotic flowers and plants, this self-contained villa is known as one of the most spectacular in all of Bali. The sleek pavilions are crafted with lots of glass, while ironwood shingle roofs reflect the purity of the villa’s natural surroundings.
The blissful setting is paired with an exhaustive list of amenities including a trampoline, a private tennis court and a variety of water features. Ponds, water walls and waterfalls are dotted around the pool area, which is enormous and also well suited to serious swimming. The views are truly breathtaking, especially from the alfresco dining terrace and the open living area.
There are four glorious bedrooms including a master suite and dedicated eight-bed kids’ slumber room. Decorated in shades of blue, the bedrooms evoke a sense of calm. King size beds with crisp white linen, contemporary art adorn the walls and oriental rugs ripple across the floor. Enormous windows ensure the rooms are bathed in natural light, while huge mirrors open up space.
The interiors are filled with luxurious furnishings and interesting artwork, such as the eye-catching portrait in the living room. Unique square shaped cushion blocks fit together to create a sprawling sofa, while the roof has striking exposed beams and dramatic pendant lighting.
A games room is complete with a pool table and quirky red thrones! There’s a state of the art gym with treadmill and weights for those who like to stay in shape when they travel. Play a game of tennis together after a tasty brunch, or bounce around on the villa’s trampoline. If that all sounds a little too taxing, indulge in a relaxing massage in the poolside alcove from skilled therapists. And when you feel like you need some downtime, watch a movie in the dedicated cinema room, complete with some delicious popcorn.The dreamy setting is just perfect for those looking to get away from it all in their own private hideaway. If you manage to tear yourself away from the villa, there are plenty of amenities to see and do nearby.
The villa is also a short drive from the sweeping rice terraces, ancient fishing villages and dramatic volcanoes of Tabanan. This area is great for a hike or a gentle walk. A great way to experience the impossibly green landscape is by bicycle – take a gentle ride through layer upon layer of rice paddies. Seseh, just 1km away is also a beautiful place to cycle through, as is Canggu itself, particularly the Shortcut.
In tranquil Tabanan itself, there are plenty of stunning natural attractions nearby, such as the famous Jutilwah rice terraces at the foot of Mount Batakuru. Enjoy the sweeping vistas of lush greenery as you stroll through the fields that were a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site candidate. Expansive tea plantations dot the landscape – why not take a tour, learn about how it’s produced and of course sample a range of delicious teas.
Bali is known as the ‘Island of the Gods’ and after visiting some of the mesmerising temples, you’ll find out why. Pura Tanah Lot is 10km away – a religious site perched high atop a wave-lashed rock formation. It’s believed that the temple here protects Bali from evil sea spirits. Pura Tanah Lot is also a popular spot for sunset. To truly observe the power of the sea temple, visit early in the morning where you can witness a local offering ceremony.
Canggu, with its enclave of spas and boutiques, cosy cafes and hip bars are also 10km from the villa. Indulge in a soothing, traditional Balinese massage at a fancy spa, and on Sundays, head to La Laguna gipsy market for organic and eco-friendly products and traditional handicrafts, to the soundtrack of live music. A special place to practise yoga nearby is Desa Seni, an eco-friendly resort that celebrates Indonesian culture and art.
