Pebbleline House United Kingdom

Luxury Villas
| 4 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

A charming stone beach house sitting atop a cliff, just metres from a large sandy beach, with glorious views overlooking Whitsand Bay and the beautiful Rame Peninsula. Pebbleline House offers plenty of privacy just back from the historic harbour and fishing village, where you can enjoy all the fantastic features of this 3000 sq ft property, including your own outdoor Jacuzzi!
The local village has both a hotel (with indoor leisure club) and an 18-hole (SSS 69) golf course (which runs partially along the coast). It also contains a pub and a local store/post office. The start of the Cornwall South West Coastal Path is a mere 50 metres from the house.
The Area and the house are in a forgotten part of Cornwall not normally visited by the crowds, yet close enough to the general hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Helegan are all about 30 minutes away.Just a few hundred yards along the coast are large, spectacular, secluded soft sanded coves. In fact, these are so wonderful that its just like being on your own private Caribbean desert island (and that’s no exaggeration).
The area is famous for its wreck diving, which boasts some of the best in the UK, with over 300 wrecks between Rame head and Fowey. The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth has won the bidding for the decommissioned warship, HMS Scylla, which will now be sunk off Whitsand Bay, Cornwall, to create an artificial reef. This will be the first of its kind in Europe, making the West country Britain’s diving capital.
Cornwall lies alongside the warm Gulf Stream and its mild climate makes all manner of plants, including sub-tropical ones, flourish here. South East Cornwall is a veritable gardeners’ paradise: dozens of wonderful gardens, large and small, public and private, are open to visitors through most of the year, and are easily accessible. These include the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan, gardens of The National Trust and  many more properties open under the National Gardens Scheme.
Spring comes early to Cornwall and, at this more peaceful time, the gardens are filled with delicate camellias and magnolias, for which the area is renowned. Azaleas and rhododendrons follow, competing with the beauty of cherry blossoms and primroses. The month of May sees the opening of the Cornwall Festival of Spring Gardens at venues throughout the county – an event not to be missed!
In summer, the roses make the bees, and visitors, dizzy with their perfume. In streamside dells, huge gunneras and acanthus shelter dainty candelabra primulas and ferns. Finally, Autumn turns all to red and russet, gold and claret and bright  berries and seed heads adorn the trees and borders. Whatever time you visit, you’ll find sights that take your breath away.
One experience not to be missed is the spectacular and unique Eden Project. The Project is easily accessible from your accommodation in South East Cornwall and is guaranteed to leave you enchanted, inspired and overawed! Built inside a crater 50 metres deep, the huge biomes constitute the biggest plant conservatory on earth!
Within the largest of the three giant spheres, (which is tall enough to hold the Tower of London) you’ll experience the sights, smells and sheer scale of the rainforest when walking around the lofty gantry suspended in the top of the dome.
As well as introducing you to over 70,000 plants from all over the world, the project reminds us all of our dependence on plants for our own survival and how vital it is to conserve and value them. For an introduction to an unforgettable experience, visit the Eden Project website.
The house is a perfect starting point with the coastal path a mere 50 metres away, allowing you to slowly venture out, but with home not too far from sight. After the exertion of a long coastal walk you could ask Lilian, the visiting masseuse, to give you a wonderful Aromatherapy massage, or an Indian Head massage, after spending an hour or so lolling in a steaming Hot Tub!
Connie, the Housekeeper. offers an unpacking service if you order your shopping via the internet. Select from either Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, or Safeway. She will do all the hard work and then put the food in the fridge or freezer. She makes a modest charge for this service based on her time. She is also available for cleaning during your visit.
