From the moment you arrive, everything about the villa guides you out towards the stunning views over the ocean, the picturesque town and the Montgó mountain, Cabo de San Antonio. When you are inside sliding glass doors act as picture frames for the views, and when open all the barriers seem to disappear, combining the warmth and cosiness of the inside space, with the fresh breeze and openness of the surrounding landscape.
Villa Ficus offers a lovely combination of character features and modern styles, creating a relaxing ambience for the whole property. On the ground floor, the main living and dining room is spacious and bright, with a charming fireplace alongside the modern flat-screen television and music system! A beautiful oak table with space for sixteen guests to dine together offers the perfect setting for celebrations and evening meals, gathering together away from the hustle and bustle of day to day lives. The kitchen is practically brand new, with a central island where everyone can gather around as the nominated chefs prepare some delicious meals!
The five beautiful bedrooms all offer their own bathrooms, terraces and televisions, the perfect retreats when you need a private moment alone or as a couple. On the ground floor there is a double and a twin room, whilst upstairs offers two double rooms and a final twin bedroom. Each room is as lovely as the next, with picturesque views, shutters to keep the sun out and traditional beams that add a warm, homely feel to each space.
The magic of Villa Ficus is evident both inside and out, with the carefully considered layout guiding you out to each of the beautiful outdoor spaces. The main terrace offers up a refreshing private swimming pool, bordered by luxury outdoor seating, deck chairs and a popular al-fresco dining area. With a lawn where you can walk barefoot, and kids can run and play, as well as a separate summer kitchen with a barbecue, sometimes it feels there is little reason to go back inside! Close to the centres of both Jávea and Moraira, two of Costa Blanca’s most charming and authentic resort towns, Villa Ficus is perfectly placed for those who enjoy days at the beach, family activities or the local entertainment at the towns.
On the scenic Mediterranean coast, the small town of Jávea is a friendly place which delights visitors to the Costa Blanca with its pretty marina and beautiful beaches. The sea is of great importance in Jávea, and many of its excellent restaurants make the most of their location by serving expertly prepared fish dishes featuring the best of the day’s catch.
Moraira is another beautiful coastal town with traditional Spanish charm oozing through its cobbled streets and market squares. From water-sports, horse riding, cycling, tennis and go-carting to golf, boat trips and a weekly market where you can find all kinds of local produce including food, gifts, linen, leather and ceramic goods and so much more – Moraira has something for everyone! Giving you plenty of choice for each night of your holiday!
Arenal beach is a big draw for visitors, less than a ten-minute drive from the villa – the golden sands are fringed with palm trees and make a great place to take the family. There are play areas for children and plenty of places to eat nearby. Restaurants around the town aren’t restricted to local specialities, but it would be a shame not to take the opportunity to try the region’s rich meat and fish favourites or gorgeous sweet pastries.
As well as international cuisine, you can try the local wine, such as Jalon – a fine accompaniment to the hearty Mediterranean desserts. The town has many attractive buildings including churches and monasteries – lookout also for the ancient windmills which dot the landscape just outside the town. Jávea has an excellent array of shops to explore and great sports facilities too. As well as many water-sports you can enjoy a round of golf at the town’s club, set amidst fragrant pine and orange trees, or at several other locations nearby.
