The ground floor offers the quieter living spaces, with three good-sized double bedrooms, one of which offers gorgeous views over the pool and to the sea. There is also a bathroom and a laundry area on this floor. As you step up to the first level, there is a stunning, unique living area. Double height glazing fills the living room with light, yet a large feature fireplace and soft, comfortable furnishings make this space seem cosy and sociable, a gathering space for everyone to come together. The dining room is also in this open-plan space, yet under a single-storey height roof it offers a slightly more intimate dining space. There is direct access out to the terrace from here, similarly to the full-equipped family kitchen. On the upper level, there is a spacious, double bedroom, with remarkable sea views, a quiet reading area and access up to a sunny terrace with sun loungers, ideal for a peaceful moment in the sunshine.
The villa is truly defined by the outdoor spaces, with the terrace adjacent to the living room and kitchen, offering a care-free, relaxed ambience, where you can sit back, and soak in the wonderful surroundings, dining as a group outside, or finding a quiet moment to read your book, or a social, bustling moment to enjoy a bottle or two of local wine! Whatever you’re picturing, it’s even better. Tamariu is a truely delightful seaside village, and its beach is considered one of the best on the Costa Brava.
This small crescent-shaped beach, surrounded by pine clad headlands, is wonderfully sandy, and blessed with translucent waters. Originally a fishing village, Tamariu has retained much of its charm and identity, due to the nature of its rather rugged, but beautiful coastline, and the challenging journey for those navigating the narrow hillside roads. And, thank goodness for that, as what we are left with is an utterly charming stretch of coast occupied by like-minded discerning tourists who respect the local countryside, and embrace the traditional restaurants and tapas bars found in this gem of a village.
There are welcome additions too; a popular promenade, a couple of well-stocked mini-markets and great waterfront restaurants. this is one special place to enjoy a family meal; just soak up the atmosphere as dusk falls.
Or, you could head out to the little medieval town of Begur, just 1.5km away. Well, worth the visit, this delightful town with its narrow streets and crumbling buildings make for a great day trip, or the perfect venue for a sublime supper.
