Despite the peaceful ambience of the area there is a wealth of activities nearby from windsurfing to diving, from kayaking to rock climbing and many excellent hiking and cycling trails. Wonderful day trips include excursions to the beautiful island of Brač, driving to the vibrant town of Masarka or exploring the medieval streets of the wonderful city of Split.

The quiet serenity of the area makes it a real get-away-from-it-all destination, feeling remote yet not far from its livelier neighbours. There are a number of pleasant restaurants and bars along the coastline and just inland is the old village of Lokva Rogoznica, once the largest settlement on the Omiš Riviera.
Nearby Ruskamen beach is well known for its watersports facilities with windsurfing, jet-ski and an excellent diving centre. Other activities in the area include kayaking or rafting down the Cetina River, hiking various trails for all abilities, cycling through the Cetina canyon and rock climbing on one of Omiš’ various recreational courses.
There are various pretty beaches and fishing villages to discover, such as Pisak (10km) and Stanici (8km) and one of the highlights of the area has to be swimming in the stunning fresh water coming from underwater springs at the remote Vruja beach (12km).
The lively town of Makarska (30km) is a great day trip if you are looking for a more energetic ambience. Kacic Square comes alive in the summer, especially at the time of the summer festivities from mid June to mid September when there are open-air theatre and music performances, cinemas and exhibitions. The town has a vibrant feel with its vast numbers of cafes, restaurants and bars plus an exciting night-life well into the early hours.
Other unforgettable day trips include an excursion to the beautiful island of Brač, which can be reached by boat from Omiš or drive to the historical city of Split (35km) which can be reached in under an hour.
