Hiza Histria Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Hiza Histria is a striking illustration of Istrian architecture, where the locally renowned Pietra d’Istria, a hardy limestone, was used to build this fine holiday villa over 200 years ago. Renovated in 2014, Hiza Histria is particularly well suited to a large group of friends or families with children. As you enter this Hiza, some of the original features have remained intact. The original wooden ceiling beams allow guests to fully embrace this rustic Hiza’s design.
There are four amply sized bedrooms scattered amongst the ground, first and second floors; each with wonderful views of the Istrian countryside. Due to the recent restoration, the bathrooms are totally fitted out with superior features like quartz countertops, non-slip ceramic tiling and even a hot tub.
The ground floor is the perfect area for relaxation! A serviceable stone wine cellar & bar area can be found directly next to a well-equipped kitchen, with a raging chimney firepit. Make yourself a drink and pop into the billiards room, where a pool table awaits. Next to this room the living and dining areas can be found, which have terrace access to the poolside and garden for some outside fun.
The exteriors grounds are an ideal place to enjoy meals and drinks. A thatched pergola stands above a stone alcove, where outdoor furniture can be found. Both of these areas are ideal for either al fresco dining or some intimate drinks. The overflow swimming pool is a great for a refreshing dip, during those warm summer months. After a quick swim, grab a drink from the bar and recline on the sun loungers surrounding the swimming pool and absorb some Croatian rays!Formerly known as Histria, the enchanting waterside escape of Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. It’s heart shape shows is almost a physical representation of the passion and culture that can be found here.
Living up to its original Latin name, Istria is steeped in history and palpable heritage featuring many fascinating historical sites that travellers are able to visit. Perhaps the most impressive of which is the Roman Amphitheatre which has been preserved incredibly well, standing in Pula and this amphitheatre is actually the sixth largest arena in the whole of Europe!
Outside of its historical charms, Istria has plenty of other features on offer. Surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, there are many pristine, picturesque beaches and sea front café’s where one can soak up the sun or watch the boats as they travel towards the nearby ports of Italy and Slovenia.
Turning away from the coast, rural Istria is completed with rolling green hills all overflowing with natural emerald beauty. If you are enticed by the lure of wild and rare nature, then take a boat trip to the nearby islands of Brijuni which are not only surrounded by the most intensely stunning beaches but are also covered in greenery boasting rare wild plants including wild cucumber and more.
