Rental Description

Offering bucket loads of charm and surrounded by nature in the most southern Croatian village of Vitaljina, Casa Vitale offers a very relaxing holiday experience. Vitaljina is situated within Dubrovnik’s great wine region of Konavle, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, mountains and forests. It is within a ten-minute drive of the nearest beach Prevlaka. Guests enjoy the shops and restaurants of the nearby village of Gruda, while the must-visit towns of Molunat and Cavtat are under thirty minutes away, and the fabulous Dubrovnik Old Town is fifty minutes away. Casa Vitale boasts a magical spot and a long list of treats, including a sports court, a fabulous pool, a jacuzzi, a summer kitchen, a tavern and a games room. Surrounding Vitaljina are other beautiful villages and beautiful walks through ancient vineyards and olive groves. Guests enjoy horse riding, wine tasting, folk events, biking, visiting quaint fishing villages and pretty coves. As well as its delicious wines, the Konavle region is also famous for its quality olives, olive oil and a wide variety of local produce.
Casa Vitale dates back to the late 16th century and has been completely renovated while retaining its wonderful nods from the past. You will find lots of exposed stone walls and wood throughout the villa. They offer a wonderful, warm ambience. With four double bedrooms, the villa is perfect for families or groups of friends that want to enjoy the outdoors, nature and the assortment of activities provided. The villa stands in exceptional gardens with lush Mediterranean greenery and lawns and the games court, games room, summer terrace, tavern and other areas. The very generously sized swimming pool sits centre stage, surrounded by a terrace, lawns, and numerous sun loungers. It also offers an eight-person jacuzzi, a shower and a convenient bathroom. Guests can enjoy listening to music through the smartphone-controlled sound system with internet radio and live stream options. Overlooking the pool is a shaded alfresco dining terrace, a gorgeous spot conveniently situated close to the kitchen. There is also a summer kitchen with a 5-metre long table made from 120-year-old Croatian oak, which can seat up to twenty guests. The summer kitchen within the tavern boasts a 2.5-metre barbecue, a bread over, fridge, ice maker and oven. The tavern was opened in 1885, initially as an olive mill for olive oil production. It has been well preserved with the restored olive oil wheel and offers a unique atmosphere. There is also a separate room with a sofa and television. The tavern enjoys a stereo system so that you can listen to your favourite soundtracks. The games room offers darts, a pool, table football and table tennis. Your teenagers will love it, as will you! You will discover the impressive games court on the other side of the pool. Badminton and tennis can be played late into the evening as the court is floodlit.
There are two spacious living rooms within the villa, both with televisions and comfy furnishings, a very generous and well-equipped country kitchen diner, two bathrooms, and four bedrooms. Many of the rooms enjoy lovely beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. The chefs in your group will be delighted with both the indoor kitchen and the summer one. You will enjoy many delicious meals at this beautiful villa. One of the bathrooms offers a massage shower and the other a jacuzzi bath. The bedrooms are delightful, tranquil spaces again, enjoying nods from the past.
Casa Vitale is a wonderful choice for friends or family holidays with so many activities on offer. You will return home fully refreshed, having had a brilliant holiday in this heavenly area.

Casa Vitale is located in the fabulous countryside village of Vitaljina within Dubrovnik’s great wine region of Konavle, roughly 50 minutes drive from Dubrovnik Old Town. This pretty village is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, mountains and forests. Yet, it is still within a ten-minute drive of the nearest beaches at Prevlaka and is only 2 km from the border with Montenegro.
The nearby village of Gruda offers some shops and restaurants, and Molunat is just 8 km away. Magical Molunat is sleepy and laid back, positioned by the water’s edge with rugged hillsides on either side. This heavenly region offers fortresses to discover, a stunning coastline, the beautiful Bay of Kotor, Cavtat within half an hour, and the wonderful medieval town of Dubrovnik. You may even decide to visit gorgeous Montenegro as you are close to the border. Cavtat is beautiful, hemmed in by mountains and lush swathes of pine and cypress forest. It is rich in cultural history, boasts beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, many ancient necropolises sprinkled around and a wonderful promenade lined with fishing boats and artisan shops. Several interesting museums and galleries, including the Bukovac House and Gallery. You will also discover some lovely restaurants where you can sample the delicious local cuisine. The town cemetery on the hill contains the Racic family mausoleum, designed by the sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. The Epidaurus Festival of Music is held every year in Cavtat.
Mlini is a small, idyllic fishing village located halfway between Cavtat and Dubrovnik with a charming harbour, a lovely pebble and sand beach, cafes and restaurants and the most stunning sunsets. Mlini gets its name from the numerous freshwater wellsprings previously used to power the local flour mills. From Mlini, visitors can take a water ferry to visit Dubrovnik Old Town or visit the island of Lokrum where some of Game of Thrones was filmed. It is the ideal spot for a delicious picnic, wandering around beautiful gardens, or visiting the popular saltwater swimming location named the ‘Dead Sea’.
Dubrovnik Old Town is incredibly beautiful. It is extremely popular with its breathtaking natural beauty, rich historical heritage, and a fantastic array of restaurants, cafes, bars, and unique shops. Visitors soak up the romantic atmosphere walking along the Stradun, the main thoroughfare and its narrow streets, admire the countless monuments, taste the delicious city’s decadent gastronomic delights and be left breathless with its harmonious beauty. You can taste signature dishes such as rozata, kotonjata or black risotto along with local wines. If you are lucky, you will get a table by the harbour. During the summer, visitors can enjoy the Dubrovnik Summer Festival with music, theatre and dance performances.
You should not miss a trip to the stunning Bay of Kotor. It is also known as Boka, the winding bay of the Adriatic Sea and the southernmost point of Dalmatia, bordering Montenegro. The bay’s well-preserved Medieval towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast, Prcanj and Herceg Novi and the stunning natural surroundings are well worth the visit. Kotor’s Natural and Culturo-Historical Region was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. There are numerous churches and monasteries to visit.
Also of interest are the Herceg Novi Clock Tower, the Spanjola Fortress, Forte Mare Fortress and the Church and Monastery of Our Lady of Snow. You will find it hard to fit everything in during your stay!
