Located in Lapad, the green heart of Dubrovnik, the beautiful Villa Andean is easily accessible from the Old Town, around a 15-minute bus ride away. The house has been completely renovated with great care and attention by the owners, and the stunning result includes an outdoor pool and terrace, as well as a gym and sauna.
The villa is within a short walk of a number of beaches and several parks, as well as the beautiful pine forests of Velika i Mala Petka, a large area of nature stretching right down the coast. This is a lovely place to escape the crowds and experience the natural beauty and tranquility of west Dubrovnik.
The terrace outside the house is another attractive outdoor space, complete with seating and dining areas around the magnificent 31 sq m pool. Two buildings separate from the main house contain a tavern with a built-in barbecue, fully equipped kitchen and table football. From here, you pass through to the gym and sauna, with weights, Pilates ball and more. Above the gym, there is an apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen… and this is just a taste of what’s to come.
The main house is set over three floors. From the pool terrace you can access the ground floor area, an open-plan space with living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a bedroom on this floor. Air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and Smart TV are all available throughout the villa.
On the next floor, two bedrooms are each equipped with a double bed and en suite bathroom, while a pretty, covered terrace on this level provides comfortable seating and lovely views of Gruž harbour and marina.
The floor above is a wonderful attic area, transformed into a spacious apartment with a king-size bed, kitchen, living area and private bathroom. Four windows in the roof allow you to look up at the stars – if you’re lucky enough to be the ones to sleep in this beautiful space.Handmade wooden beds in all the bedrooms denote the attention to detail that has gone into creating Villa Andean. There is room for up to 12 guests to enjoy the villa, with five bedrooms and additional sofa-beds.
Local amenities including shops, cafés and restaurants are nearby, making it easy to enjoy the lifestyle of this charming part of Dubrovnik at Villa Andean.
Dubrovnik’s Old Town has a stellar reputation as a visitor attraction, and many come to see it every year. Its palaces and churches are architecturally rich, showcasing baroque, gothic and renaissance styles, and the pedestrian-only zone means you only need to share it with people, not cars.
In the summer, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, brings music, dance and theatre to the streets in July and August. You can discover Dubrovnik’s history at museums such as the Museum of the Croatian War of Independence, while the MOMAD Museum of Modern Art showcases the work of the country’s artists.
The Old Town walls, Rector’s Palace and Stradun, the main street which runs through the Old Town, should all be on your list. There are also cable cars which give you an unforgettable view of this UNESCO World Heritage city.
The coast which extends north and south of Dubrovnik is just as rewarding as the city itself, with idyllic spots combining vivid sea and beautiful beaches with rugged countryside and old-school charm.
To the north, past the quiet bays of Zaton and Orašac, lies the Trsteno Arboretum with its serene gardens on the edge of the Adriatic – yes, they did feature heavily in ‘Game of Thrones’. Peaceful Brsečine is a little further, notably the former home of the great Croatian poetess and early feminist, Cvijeta Zuzorić. There is also a lovely beach with a small restaurant in the bay.
