Villa Avgusta is a spectacular five-bedroom luxury villa on the east coast of Istria. Nestled into the hillside, the villa sleeps ten guests in complete comfort, but most incredibly, the villa offers uninterrupted sea views with private access to the sea! With a huge private garden and pontoon, the villa sets a new standard for holiday luxury. It is easy to imagine enjoying a refreshing breakfast as the sun rises from one of the private balconies, before heading down to the water for an early morning swim.
Entering the villa, the stylish and modern design is evident. Its modern aesthetic is cooling but also homely, creating a charming balance, perfect for a stay in the hot Croatian sun. Three spacious bedrooms with en-suites, televisions and air conditioning complete ground floor, each providing a private oasis where you can enjoy some time alone or as a couple. There is also a large, elegant balcony accessible for guests on this floor.
Upstairs, an open-plan dining and kitchen area is ideal for groups to chat and laugh while the days cook prepares the next meal. The kitchen has everything you may need to rustle up a favourite meal from home or taking inspiration from a local delicacy. The stylish breakfast bar also allows for more casual dining, if you are after a light snack in the day. The lounge area flows naturally on from the dining space and offers beautiful sea views. You can relax on one of the comfortable, yet modern sofas, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere created by the fireplace, curling up to watch some television on any colder evenings. The large balcony can be accessed from either room and offers further seating to enjoy the remarkable vistas. The villa also boasts a spa room with a sauna and a games room with a pool table, as well as a gym for added luxury.
Outside Villa Avgusta just gets even better. With its beautifully manicured and mature garden, the luscious green provides a beautiful backdrop to the modern exterior of the villa. With two tiers of garden available, there is plenty of space, and it feels very private. You can make the most of the view from the first garden by relaxing on the swing chairs as the sun goes down, we recommend having a cool glass of wine in hand! Or head down to the second garden and enjoy the sounds of the water as you gaze over the olive trees – you really are spoilt for choice! Guests will also find the hot tub and covered barbecue area, both are perfect spots to relax throughout the day and long into the evening.

This quiet village is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of some of Croatia’s larger towns. The calm bay is perfect for swimming, and the rocky terrain is the ideal habitat to spot some great sea life whilst snorkelling. Nearby at Autocamp Tunarica, you can even enjoy various water sports including, kayaking, paddle boarding and boat trips along the coastline. All around the villa, there are beautiful walks through the pine forests, so you can breathe in the wonderfully scented air as you forget your troubles in this magical place.
You can arrange a fishing trip from the private pontoon to catch the evening meal, or if you prefer, head to the village of Trget to enjoy some fantastic seafood on the waters front at the popular restaurant of Martin Pescador. Heading further north, it is worth exploring the beautiful town of Labin. Wander the narrow winding streets through the hilltop town and take in the stunning and historic architecture that Istria offers. There are Venetian Palaces and bronze age relics, so be sure to explore the town museum to uncover its rich past.
To the south, the city of Pula is well worth the visit as the region’s capital. Best known for its ancient Roman history, much of the Roman influence is still present today. Visit the ancient Roman amphitheatre, as this is one of the best preserved amphitheatres in the world and once hosted decadent shows of Roman drama to the local population. This tradition still occurs today with the amphitheatre still running regular events, so be sure to check what’s on during your stay!
Istria as a region is stunning, with its dramatic coastline providing opportunities from cliff diving to exploring deep caves by boat. Inland, waterfalls and dense forests make for beautiful and peaceful walks and bike tours, there really is something for everyone. With such a strong Italian influence on the region the culinary culture is also well worth exploring, take a tour of the local olive farm to learn how olive oil is made, or dine in some exquisite restaurants to taste the flavours of Istria.
