Villa Dinko Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
This villa is perfect for those who love to spend time outdoors, as it has a beautifully spacious pool and a traditional stone kitchen and barbecue. Designed in a rustic yet romantic style, Villa Dinko has three charming bedrooms and plenty of space in the open-plan living area. The exteriors are painted in sunny ochre, while crimson is used throughout the villa’s interiors, adding an elegant touch. Free private parking is available on site, and the villa is a short drive from many of Istria’s best attractions.
Outside, the turquoise pool is large enough for proper swimming – perfect for the whole family to enjoy a peaceful afternoon and enjoy the sunshine. Surrounded by plenty of decking space and lots of trees that offer shade and privacy, the pool also has lots of sunbeds for guest use. Barbecue enthusiasts will love cooking up a storm in the alfresco kitchen, which has a shaded wooden dining table in the same area. This area is accessed from the pool by some steps. A second outdoor dining table has a modern glass table.
The indoor kitchen is equipped with everything you will need to prepare delicious meals for everyone. There’s a great selection of appliances including an oven, a fridge, a coffee maker and even a dishwasher. The kitchen is elegantly designed in a countryside style, all in cream. Just beyond this area is yet another dining space.
The living room is supremely spacious, with a corner sofa that is cream and brown, with mustard scatter cushions and a rug. Here, guests can enjoy some downtime and watch a movie on the flat screen television, which has satellite channels. There are also several cosy armchairs. Colourful tulip art adorns the walls and the space has plenty of natural light that streams in through the windows.
The bedrooms are decorated in a chic style, with mauve feature walls and red blankets. Double beds are covered in crisp white linen and plush cushions. Floor to ceiling crimson curtains add dramatic flair, while vintage silver mirrors adorn the walls. The bathrooms have circular glass encased showers and pretty blue tiles. This villa is perfectly placed in Fazana, a traditional little fishing town with a lovely waterfront lined with colourful cafes. Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, Fazana is relaxed and quaint. Located on the Istrian peninsula, Fazana is just a short drive from lots of amenities like Brujuni National Park and Pula, the capital of Istria.
Istria has a strong Italian influence, being just two hours from Venice. It also has plenty of relics left over from the Romans. It’s easy to hop across the border and spend a day exploring Italy during your holiday. Istria’s heart-shaped coastline is gorgeous, with lots of beaches to explore.
Brijuni National Park, an archepilago of 14 islands is easily accessible by boat from Fazana. The unspoilt natural beauty of the islands, teamed with its unique flora and fauna makes it a lovely day trip. Enjoy a scenic boat ride with views of the southwestern peninsula to reach the park. There are dinosaur footprints on the largest island, Viliki Brijuni, and plenty of archaeological wonders. Those who enjoy hiking will love the trails around the islands, with stunning views at every turn.
Beaches in the Fazana area include the blue-flag Bi Val beach, which is part of a resort yet accessible to non-guests. This beach is popular with families and it has a sloped, sandy entrance to the sea. The rest of the beach is made up of the characteristic fine pebbles of Istrian beaches. Guests can try watersports here like parasailing.
San Lorenzo beach is in Fazana centre, backed with trees, with warm turquoise water. For those who want to experience a more wild, natural beach, head to Oliva on the island of St. Nikola. Accessed by a five-minute boat ride, Oliva beach has a forest of oak and pine trees.
Istria is well known for its delicious gastronomy and fresh ingredients, like chestnuts and wild asparagus. A local dish to try is pljukanci, a hand-rolled pasta dish served with a variety of punchy sauces. Fazana itself is known for its sardines, so make sure you sample some! Vineyard tours are also popular throughout Istria. There are also many wineries and vineyards that offer tours and the opportunity to try a glass of Refošk or Malvazija. Admire the views of rolling hills and rows of grapes from the terrace.
Take a trip to Pula, overflowing with history, culture and mythology, particularly of the Roman era. There’s a famous colosseum here that now hosts concerts and events – in the days of the Romans it hosted gladiator fights. In the summer months, there are re-enactments of these. There are lots of carnivals in Pula, so keep an eye out for these during your visit. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
