Villa Franka Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
The lovely Villa Franka is so serene. It is situated on the hill, just 1.5km from the sea in a small cosy village Barbariga between Pula and Rovinj on the stunning Istria peninsula. The villa was built in 2017 and is high spec and very modern. It is in a lovely sunny position enjoying sea and countryside views and every modern comfort. With two dazzling double bedrooms, it sleeps 4 guests. The Istrian peninsula has two distinct regions, Blue Istria, the dazzling indented coastline and Green Istria, the lush interior of rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards sprinkled with charming hilltop villages. It is also the land of gastronomic feasts with a definite Italian influence. Villa Franka is open-plan and bright and airy. The dazzling sun flows through the villa to brighten the rooms and cannot fail to brighten your mood. It is a very cheerful space. The living, dining and kitchen room is minimalistic and very sleek. The wall of glass brings the outside in with fabulous views out to the sea. There is a handy shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs the two stunning bedrooms are very spacious and have wonderful ensuite bathrooms, together with access to a lovely furnished terrace, a fabulous spot for your morning cup of coffee. Both bedrooms also have a television. The terrace and small garden are lovely. There is so much space. The 32sqm pool is amazing and is decked with sun loungers to catch that glorious tan. There is covered outdoor dining to the side of the villa and a covered outdoor kitchen and barbecue space. You can’t see anything in front of you except the lush green planting and the brilliant blue sea and sky. It is stunning. Villa Franka is exceptional with dazzling views. There is even a sauna in one of the shower rooms for your relaxation and pleasure. Villa Franka is in a fabulous coastal position on the Istrian peninsula. The last 100m to approach the villa is an unmade road. It is only 800m to a shop and less to a restaurant. It is located roughly halfway between the beautiful cities of Pula and Rovinj and 8km north-west of Farzana. When you arrive at Farzana, you will be overwhelmed with euphoria for the beautiful little fishing town. It clings to its ancient identity and traditional ways. The lively chit-chat of the residents across the charming cobblestones from their pastel houses makes you feel so honoured to be visiting. Everyone is so friendly. You can take a boat ride to the Brijuni National Park or just enjoy dinner in one of the beautiful restaurants in the squares, courtyards or on the harbour front. There is no better place for a fish platter and some local wine. Live music is also a regular feature at the square in front of the church. Good ice cream is sold everywhere in Farzana. Pula, Istria’s largest city, is situated south of the villa in the valley of seven hills. It has extraordinary Adriatic views, narrow cobbled streets and amazing Roman buildings. The amphitheatre is absolutely incredible and a must-see! It was built to host 20000 spectators between 27-68AD and is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre in the world with a complete circle wall. Istria was part of Italy until 1947, so you will find the restaurants have a heavy Italian influence. The restaurants on the Limski canal have amazing mussels to try and, of course, the region is famous for its white truffles. The town is an extraordinary site for the amazing festivals that take place. Dimensions and Outlook take place in the amphitheatre. There are also raves in the tunnels and caves and beach parties on the shore. At the very bottom tip of Istria, Cape Kamenjak is a 6km rocky protuberance that is very popular. It is a protected zone full of little coves and wooded islands. Another lovely day trip is to Opatija with wonderful views of the neighbouring islands. You can stroll down the Opatija Walk of Fame with many great Croatian names honoured including tennis legend Goran Ivanisevic. The ‘Girl with the Seagull’ is the most famous statue in Opatija. The 12km promenade walk between Volosko and Lovran is lovely. From the Opatija Riviera, you can visit the Golden island Krk by boat visiting the small islet of Kosljun on the way. You can also visit Vrbnik, most famous for its widely known white wine, Vrbnicka Zlahtina. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
