Rental Description

Visitors looking for charm, tranquillity, and a feeling of the real Hvar will love the gorgeous, newly renovated 19th century Villa Cobalt. It is nestled in Vrbanj in the centre of the island and several shops, a restaurant, the parish church dedicated to the Holy Spirit, which is still standing since the 15th century and other houses from the middle ages, including the King’s Palace. The nearest larger towns are Jelsa and Stari Grad, and the closest beach is in Vrboska, only 4km away. Vrboska has the nickname Little Venice with its sweet little bridges over the narrow fjord. Hvar Town, the tourist mecca of the island, is 23km away.
Villa Kobalt sits beautifully in the very heart of this picturesque village surrounded by traditional stone houses and gorgeous hills. It really is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. With three bedrooms, it is very comfortable for six guests though a couple of sofa beds could sleep an additional two guests. The villa offers a fantastic blend of contemporary magic along with wonderful nods from the past. The exposed stone walls add warmth and comfort, and the spaces have been brilliantly converted into spacious entertainment ones. The living space is completely open plan with a modern, dazzling white kitchen along one wall, complete with excellent appliances and a lovely, atmospheric lounge area with stylish, modern furnishings. Large doors open to a wonderful covered alfresco dining area and the huge terrace and swimming pool. Guests can relax in style on the deluxe loungers enjoying their holiday read and the glorious sunshine. The area is fully enclosed, so very private. The alfresco dining area is superb, where you can enjoy local freshly caught fish and delicious local wines, of which there are plenty. The terrace is brimming with lovely plants in pots adding a warm and inviting ambience.
Villa Kobalt offers three bedrooms, all beautifully furnished and all with a bathroom. Again, they are very stylish spaces with dazzling white and exposed stone walls and gorgeous vaulted, wooden beamed ceilings. The bathrooms are amazing, with outstanding fittings and impressive, modern styling. You will not feel like rushing in these little gems! This dreamy villa is wonderful. You will enjoy a sense of the old along with superb bathrooms and a fabulous kitchen. You can leave the villa for an evening, wander around this quaint, pretty village, taste fantastic wines and enjoy delicious local delicacies in the exceptional restaurant Bogo. What a delight!

Not far from Stari Grad and the wonderful Stari Grad Plain, Vrbanj is a delightful village. In days gone by it served as a good shelter from pirates in the centre of the island with fortifications built in the 16th and 17th century. In the main square you will find Kraljev dvor, the King’s palace built in the middle ages. The parish church is famous, as is the most beautiful and authentic Dalmation Konoba owned by Miki Bratanic. Konobas are used for making and storing wine as well as other storage uses. Miki, a dialect poet, boasts a very good wine and excellent Prosek. You can visit the Konoba by calling ahead. The village enjoys a few cafes, shops and a post office as well as an excellent restaurant and a wine centre. Close by, you can also visit the villages of Pitve and Vrisnik where there are other authentic restaurants.
The Stari Grad Plain is also known as Ager and Hora and has UNESCO World Heritage Status. It is beautiful and best explored by bicycle. Visitors enjoy the scent of the magnificent lavender fields, the beautiful countryside landscapes and the island’s quaint, charming villages. Lovers of the outdoors enjoy hiking. The peak of St Nicholas, the highest on the island, offers amazing panoramic views of the surrounding villages and islands. If you are heading towards Jelsa, you will reach the charming wine village of Svrice. It is worth a stop and if you are heading for Stari Grad, you should stop at the picturesque village of Dol.
Jelsa is the main tourist center on the north shore of Hvar. It boasts a fragrant dense pine forest, wonderful sandy beaches, numerous vineyards, historic cultural landmarks and good range of shops and gourmet restaurants. Vitarnja Beach is a delightful, beautiful cove near Jelsa. It is a great place for families with thrilling treats.
Ancient Greek colonists founded Stari Grad in 384BC and named it Pharos. Throughout the town you will find remains of its glorious past. Connecting Stari Grad and Rudina is saffron spice. Together with honey it is a main ingredient in making the delicious delicacy Paprenjak, a biscuit that became the symbol of Rudina. Stari Grad is very beautiful with a maze of picturesque narrow streets, the magical sounds of folk singers, galleries, charming courtyards, excellent shops and traditional taverns. The town sits proudly at the end of a deep inlet. The waterfront promenade continues along the northern bank to a small beach. The surrounding fields are still divided into parcels of land.
Hvar has gained a reputation as one of Croatia’s trendiest destinations with the town of Hvar being the beating heart of the island and a celebrity hot-spot. Visitors flock to the town in the summer, visiting the beaches by day and partying into the night. The harbour is sensational. The town enjoys many historic buildings including its wonderful medieval castle above the town, its 15th century monastery and its baroque cathedral. There are some lovely unique shops where you can buy souvenirs.
