Villa Kora is one of a kind, a beautiful modern villa with incredible views. Located in Kostrena, a five-minute drive from the centre of Rijeka and just 100 meters from the sea, we cannot recommend this stunning property enough!
As you approach the property, its stone walls are broken up by vast windows, reflecting the stunning views back at you, so it feels as though the ocean, trees and luscious greenery are all part of the architecture. A vibrant garden sweeps around the villa with Mediterranean greenery in every direction you look.
On the ground floor there is a fantastic open plan living space. This vast and bright room inspires creativity, social living and creates an atmosphere of complete tranquillity. The large windows each frame a separate view, with the ocean tucked behind the sofa, whilst blue skies and treetops stand out by the dining table. Indoor plants draw nature within the space, whilst sliding patio doors combine the indoor and outdoor living into one. We were amazed by this contemporary living space, and we are sure you will be too, with ample room to dine together in the evenings, lounge on the sofas and entertain guests during your stay. The kitchen is slick and modern, with all the utilities you could need to prepare your favourite meals.
A grand spiral staircase leads you upstairs. On the upper floor, there is a master bedroom with a stylish en-suite, as well as a small bedroom with a sofa bed and wardrobe. The third bedroom offers two spaces, with a library/office with a sofa bed and a bedroom with a large double bed. This elegant room also boasts a big balcony with a garden and beautiful view of the sea.
Outside, Villa Kora makes the most of its hillside location. The private pool sits poised between olive trees for a magical feel and the garden stretches around the villa making the most of the views. There is a big garage for two cars so you can travel around Croatia exploring its beautiful areas. A charming dining area sits under the cover of the first-floor balcony, with deck chairs positioned so you can soak up the Croatian sun all day long! Whether you are travelling as a family, or group of friends, this enchanting villa is the perfect place. Long seaside walks, cafes, bars and restaurants all welcome you in this vibrant area. Everything you need can be found close by, so you can simply turn up and relax! Views stretch out from the villa across the sea and the Učka mountain line, teasing you with the stunning natural surrounds!
Rijeka is 12km to the west of the villa. It is Croatia’s third largest city and offers a bustling blend of Italianate Habsburg grandeur, a busy port and touristic carnival city. Home to Croatia’s most colourful carnival, the charm, culture and nightlife of this city have to be experienced! Korzo is Rijeka’s busy promenade is wonderful for an afternoon of ambling, popping into the lively central market and fish market which are hubs of activity all day long. The fish market building is decorated with sculptures of sea creatures, looking almost like a temple of fish, a must visit and you can pick up some fresh fish to barbecue that evening at the villa! Just next to the fish market you can buy fruit and vegetables at the central market, using local produce to enhance your favourite recipes. Rijeka’s City Tower was built in the Middle Ages, with charm and character in abundance. The passage under the tower connects Korzo with the historic Old Town. Rijeka tunnel is among the most recent of the town’s attractions, as it was built in 1939-1942 by Italians for military purposes. Trsat Castle is another very interesting to visit, boasting sweeping views of the islands of Kvarner Bay.
The coastline is scattered with picturesque Blue Flag beaches offering plenty of water sports and activities to keep you busy and well entertained through the days. Ploce Beach is the most popular of the beaches in the north of the city, so you can pop that one at the top of your list! Boat trips are a fantastic way to explore this area, heading into Kvarner Bay to see the various islands and snorkel around the shoreline!
