Situated on the beautiful bay of Lovište on the Pelješac Peninsular, Villa Loviste lies just steps away from the beach. With a landscape garden and a gorgeous pool terrace, this impressive holiday home can accommodate up to six guests.
The villa has its own private swimming pool measuring 32 sq m, surrounded by a spacious terrace with sun loungers. The adjacent garden is another lovely spot to enjoy the climate, with a direct view out to sea. Another terrace area offers a covered space for dining, and there is also a barbecue. If you want to remain outside, you can explore the local area on one of the two bicycles available at the property.
Inside, you have an inviting stone-walled living room with large, comfy sofas and Smart TV, as well as more dining space and a kitchen equipped with a host of electrical appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine.
Three double bedrooms are each accompanied by an en suite bathroom, and there is an additional bathroom too. There is direct access to a terrace area from the upper floor, ideal for a morning cup of coffee. The house also benefits from air-conditioning and electric heating, and it offers parking for three vehicles.
The local area is renowned for its wine-making, so countless vineyards are found on the peninsula, as well as many beautiful coves and beaches. Lovište lies right at the western tip of the peninsula which gives it close proximity to the stunning island of Korčula. This is only around 15km away, so it is definitely worth hopping on a water-taxi to see the island for yourself, and you can even enjoy some food and wine along the way. Also not so far away, the glamorous island of Hvar and the national park of Mljet are among the region’s highlights.The peaceful bay of Loviste lies right at the end of Croatia’s Pelješac Peninsular, a lengthy finger of land which extends west of Ston, around 50km north of Dubrovnik. This puts it level with the popular islands of Korčula and Hvar which lie to the south and north respectively.
With a name that translates as ‘fishing place’, Loviste is a safe bet for some fresh seafood which is a real treat, especially when paired with an equally excellent Croatian wine – something for which the Pelješac Peninsular is famed. The bay has a smattering of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the opportunity to try both.
Not too much else goes on in quiet Loviste, but that’s the beauty of it – the beaches are blissful and ideal for swimming and relaxing. It gets a little more lively each September when there is a traditional celebration involving dancing and hog roasts (and wine, of course). At the other end of the peninsula, the town of Ston is famed for its lengthy defensive walls – the longest in Europe, in fact – and its oysters.
A short boat ride away from Loviste, Korčula is the closer of the two neighbouring islands, and a real gem. Breathtakingly beautiful, its main town, also called Korčula, is rightly popular with visitors, with street markets, pavement cafés and old buildings to admire. Look out for St Mark’s Cathedral and the imposing Revelin Tower which once marked the entrance to the walled city.
To the south, the pebbly Pupnatska Luca beach is also worth a visit, as is Przina, near the east coast village of Lumbarda, an area which plays host to all of the island’s sandy beaches.
