Villa Novella Croatia

Luxury Villas
| 4 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

With its high-quality design and ample living space, Villa Novella offers an attractive holiday home to up to eight guests. Situated 2.5km from the beach and the centre of Novigrad, this beautiful Istrian villa features a 50 sq m outdoor pool and an upper-level hot tub.
This 4-bedroom villa puts all the great destinations of Croatian Istria – and some in nearby Slovenia – within reach. The villa has a large terrace with lawned areas and poolside sun loungers, as well as outdoor seating and dining areas with a TV and a barbecue. On the upper terrace, a large hot tub overlooks the pool area and enjoys great views.
Inside, the open-plan living area has large sofas, and a widescreen TV with satellite channels. The dining area is complemented by a sleek and well-equipped kitchen with an island, dishwasher, coffee machine and fridge freezer. You also have access to free Wi-Fi.
One of the four en suite bedrooms is found on the ground floor, while the remaining three are upstairs. Air conditioned and with terrace access (in one case, straight to the hot tub) these beautifully styled rooms are one of the highlights of Villa Novella. The bathrooms are just as impressive, with large, walk-in showers or a free-standing bath.
You will be just a short drive from Novigrad with its colourful harbourside houses and high-end restaurants. Novigrad is a 5-minute drive from the Aqualand Istralandia and not much further from the caves of Špilja Mramornica. Regular events including an annual food festival add flavour to this relaxed, coastal town.
Better known destinations like Poreč and Rovinj lie down the coast, while hidden gem Umag is within driving distance to the north. The region’s many other highlights, such as the Učka Nature Park, Pula and the pretty hilltop town of Motovun are all easily accessible from Novigrad.

A peaceful town on the northerly stretch of Croatia’s Istrian coast, Novigrad is well worth discovering. Quieter than the more well-known cities like Pula and Rovinj, it offers historic sights, excellent dining and a charming waterfront promenade.
You will find contemporary art exhibitions at the town’s Lapidarium Museum, and the streets are artistically decorated too, with colourful umbrellas cascading above your head. The Old Town is surrounded by the fortified town walls which date from the 14th century. Perhaps the town’s most recognisable building is the Church of St Pelagius and St Maximus – you are sure to spot its bell tower.
Novigrad hosts an annual food festival, the appropriately named Gnam-Gnam Fest, but you can eat well at any time thanks to the town’s many high-quality restaurants. Fresh seafood and great local wines are a regular feature of menus around Novigrad. The region produces a variety of wines, with Istrian Malvasia considered one of the best.
The town enjoys a good location, with Umag and Savudrija to the north nudging close to the border with Slovenia. The stunning coastal town of Piran, one of the most beautiful spots in the country, is within a reasonable drive, and the peaceful salt pans of the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park are also just across the border.
In Umag, you will find some lovely beaches and a pleasant Old Town that is certainly worth a visit. The nearby Savudrija Lighthouse is a notable landmark, while the wider area is filled with vineyards and pretty villages.
Things get a bit busier further south, where the popular resort of Poreč can be found. About 17km from Novigrad, Poreč’s Roman Old Town and the 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica are must-sees. Boat trips to the nearby island of Sveti Nikola depart regularly, or you could venture into the deep with a visit to Baredine Cave, a spectacular sight.
In summer, Poreč keeps things lively with its annual festival, Poreč Summer – you may also find classical music concerts on the bill at the Euphrasian Basilica. If you’re more into movies, you may prefer to head to the hilltop town of Motovun, which hosts an annual International Film Festival.
On Istria’s eastern side, the rugged countryside of Učka Nature Park is the perfect setting for outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking and hiking. If you make it to the highest peak, Vojak, you will find a landmark stone tower from which the views across the area are pretty much unrivalled. The glamorous spa resort of Opatija lies not too far away – the delights of Kvaerner Bay, the Lungomare promenade and the town’s immaculate parks will ensure this is a journey worth making.
