Villa Renars is located in the town centre of Makarska, situated on Croatia’s mainland on the Dalmatian coast between Split and Dubrovnik. It is home to some of Croatia’s most beautiful stretches of beach and is at the base of the impressive and stunning Mount Biokovo. The villa is located on one of Makarska’s traditional narrow stone-paved streets, giving you a real feel for the local life. This fantastic destination offers you the perfect combination of beach, town and countryside, making it well suited for a family holiday or a friends trip away.
Villa Renars is a lovely cosy villa giving you a warm feeling of home away from home. The villa has a great combination of rustic and modern décor, with brick and stone walls showing throughout the property giving it loads of character. The villa has two double bedrooms and two small single beds, so it can accommodate up to six guests.
The first room has a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom while the second bedroom has a double bed, en-suite bathroom and small balcony, ideal for taking a breath and admiring the view before starting your day. The two small single beds are located on the open mezzanine level above the main living space. The beds are at floor level, and from this room, you can peer over the internal balcony on to the lounge. In the main communal area, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, a fantastic space to relax if you fancy having a restful day in. From the living area through the patio doors you can access a large private terrace, here you will find a barbecue, outdoor dining table and a long stone bench. A great space for everyone to soak up the sun, admire the daily life of people in the streets, or to have a tasty meal outside on a warm evening.
A free public parking spot is available outside of the villa. The villa is right next to a cafe/bar and is within walking distance to the local shops and restaurants.
Makarska beach is only a 10-minute walk from the villa, this long curving stretch of shoreline has beautiful clear sea. Directly behind the beach, there is a promenade lined with palm trees with a great selection of cafes and restaurants for you to try. There are also facilities to rent jet skis and paddle boats. If the local beach gets a little crowded another option is the beautiful beaches of Brela located 14km from Makarska. The coastal path is a lovely and scenic way of reaching these beaches either on foot or by bike. Alternatively, there are plenty of car parks available if you decide to drive. Brela beaches are surrounded by pine trees and have crystal clear water with plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. If you keep walking to the furthest point past the hotels, you will reach Brela’s most beautiful beach with fantastic mountain views and the iconic Brela rock, a perfect place to relax, take in the views and of course take some amazing holiday snaps.
Exploring the quaint town of Makarska is a lovely way to spend a day. The town’s open and picturesque main square is called Kacic Square, and here you will find St. Mark’s church and bell tower, this 17th century baroque style church with mountain range backdrop gives you a beautiful scene to admire. The square is also home to a monument of Andrija Kačić Miošić, a Franciscan and Croatian folk poet, and a 1775 Venetian drinking fountain. A small Green Market is set up every morning by the church and is great for buying fresh produce and flowers.
If you are feeling more adventurous and fancy a challenge, then why not hike up the Biokovo Mountain range. Vosac peak is only 1.8 miles from the town centre and is the most popular walk offering stunning views. If you want a harder challenge, then Sveti Jure is the highest peak. The trails are well signposted, but organised hikes with different levels of difficulty can be arranged.
