Villa Silenzio Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Located in the small village of Pristeg in Benkovac – a town nestled within the popular Zadar County area of Croatia – you’ll find Villa Silenzio. This spacious and comfortable three bedroom villa sleeps up to 6 guests, with a sofa bed in the living room that allows you to accommodate an additional 2. Set over two floors and featuring a private pool, large garden and a spacious terrace, Villa Silenzio is modern and stylish. The ground floor is beautifully decorated in tones of white and grey with black accents and features clean, shiny surfaces and luxurious soft furnishings. The open-plan space features a comfortable living area (with sofa bed), dining space with seating for up to 8 guests, and a stylish kitchen that comes equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare meals, snacks and drinks during your stay.
The bedrooms are bright and airy, with fresh, white decor and linens, warm wooden flooring and touches of grey and taupe in the soft furnishings. From here, you can step out onto your private balcony, complete with outdoor furniture, to enjoy a morning coffee as you look out over the grounds of your villa. You’ll find wonderfully modern bathrooms with black and oatmeal tiling and glass-fronted shower cubicles, as well as plenty of space for storing towels and toiletries.
Exiting the ground floor onto the spacious terrace, you’ll discover your private pool, sun loungers and parasols – the perfect place to relax in the sun and read before taking a cooling dip. The large garden is private and secure and includes a multi-functional sand court where you’ll be able to enjoy a game of volleyball, badminton or football, as well as a children’s play area with a swing and trampoline. Alfresco meals will be a piece of cake to prepare at Villa Silenzio thanks to the generous-sized bbq and covered outdoor eating area and offer the ideal opportunity for enjoying Croatian delicacies and perhaps a bottle or two of local wine as the sun sets over the stunning landscape.
Villa Silenzio can be found in the town of Benkovac in Zadar County, an area popular with tourists thanks to its dynamic atmosphere and plethora of cafes, lounges and cocktail bars and restaurants. The area is rich in history and attractions, so you won’t be short of things to do while holidaying here. In the city’s heart, visitors can visit the cafes beneath the Venetian-era bell tower of St. Anastasia’s Cathedral and marvel at the Roman columns, pediments and sarcophagi left scattered from the earthquake that dismantled the city in the 6th century. The city’s beaches are clean and easily accessible, though predominantly narrow with shingle, not sand. The waters are clear and the views spectacular, which more than makes up for it, and there are a number of beachside cafes and restaurants to enjoy.
Make sure a visit to The Sea Organ is on your list while you’re in town; an art installation by artist and architect Nikola Basic that looks like a series of steps leading down to the sea. The ingenious system of resonant chambers within the artwork creates ever-changing tunes that synchronise with the tide and are designed to both soothe and excite the senses. The Greeting To The Sun installation can be found here too. With 300 multi-layered glass plates that absorb solar energy during the day and create a spectacular waterfront light show after sunset, it symbolises the communication between man and nature and is a sight to behold.
The area boasts a stunning, uncrowded coastline and is THE place to find unique gastronomical delights such as Adriatic lobster, sea bass, squid and langoustines. Be sure to wash it all down with some local wine! And be sure to stick around if you’re after lively, unpretentious and varied nightlife; the town’s historic centre is where you’ll find the most buzzing atmosphere, and in the warmer months, everyone spills out of them all-night cafes and bars and into the streets. You’ll find a great mix of people here as the scene isn’t divided into ‘young’ and ‘old’, so you’ll get to meet an eclectic group of people. If you decide to enjoy a night out here, make sure you check out Arsenal Zadar, a lively bar with soaring ceilings that serve as a cafe and art gallery by day…but by night is transformed, with a restaurant upstairs and a cocktail bar and stage downstairs. Here you can expect to hear traditional Dalmatian acapella groups, local bands and well-known DJs.
