Villa Smeda is a hacienda-inspired, modern villa that sits at the heart of a vast plot in rolling countryside, close to the small town of Vodice. As well as being surrounded by lush hills, the villa has a rambling, Mediterranean-style garden to enjoy soaking up the comfortable atmosphere.
The interior of Villa Smeda reflects its rural location, with natural materials such as stone and wood used throughout. The traditional feel complements the contemporary furnishings and design perfectly, creating a warm and comfortable holiday home.
The lounge features a large corner sofa that can accommodate everyone for evenings spent watching films on the wall-mounted flat screen television. There’s also access to the outside space via patio doors.
The kitchen is well-equipped, with every convenient facility on offer and a breakfast bar for enjoying a glass of fresh orange juice at breakfast time. The dining area is beautifully laid out, with a rustic wood table and patio doors that lead straight out onto the terrace with outdoor seating.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms at Villa Smeda, with all being of the right size and boasting a relaxing atmosphere.
The extensive, stone-walled outside space is stunning, with country views as far as the eye can see. Dotted around the main terrace are areas of gravel garden with colourful plants and flowers, which smell as divine as they look.
Further into the garden are lawns with more traditional trees and plants and a second seating area that features an open fire. As you keep exploring the garden, you’ll come to a terrace that’s home to a large, private swimming pool and a selection of sun loungers.
Adjacent to this is a barbecue area for cooking dinner and enjoying it al fresco. The views from every corner of the garden are spectacular, with them coming into their own as you watch the sun setting behind the hills.Sitting close to the small town of Vodice, Villa Smeda enjoys a secluded and quiet position, surrounded by natural beauty. Away from the tranquillity of your villa are plenty of towns and cities for stocking up on essentials, enjoying meals and sightseeing.
Around 15 minutes away by car is Vodice, a small yet lively town on the coast. Here you’ll find lots of shops for buying groceries and some souvenir shops. Hangar Beach is a pebbled stretch that gently slopes into the calm sea, making it especially ideal for children to swim safely.
As well as loungers and parasols being available for hire, watersports equipment is on offer too. Hire a jet ski, kayak or paddle boat for having fun on the water.
The quieter part of the beach is where you’ll find a dedicated children’s play area with trampolines, air castles and carousels. There’s a good selection of café bars and restaurants here also.
Šibenik is less than 20 minutes away by car. This larger town is home to several supermarkets, so it’s the best place to go if you’re planning on doing a big food shop. There are also a few shopping malls here too for indulging in some retail therapy.
Šibenik is also a historic place, with charming terracotta-roofed buildings that fill the city and nestle right up to the edge of the bay. The old town is where you’ll find many of the must-see sites, including many ancient churches.
