Situated in the beautiful Port town of Makarska on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast stands Villa Timarska. This stunning four-bedroom property can accommodate up to 10 guests and offers relaxing surroundings and breathtaking views just a few minutes away from the vibrant town centre. The villa is set over two storeys and has a spacious, modern design, with floor to ceiling sliding doors, natural flooring, and beautifully lit outdoor areas. The decor is kept natural throughout in fresh shades of cream, stone and shell, blending perfectly with the outdoor dining and relaxation areas and giving a real sense of bringing the indoors outdoors.
Furniture throughout the open-plan living area is contemporary in design, with a plush chocolate brown sofa (that can be converted into a sleeping area for two guests), coffee table, modern artworks on the walls, and lighting fixtures in chrome and glass. There is a flat-screen TV for your entertainment, and Wi-Fi throughout. The dining area benefits from glass sliding doors on two sides which allow in plenty of light and air, and the well-equipped kitchen consists of plenty of storage and food preparation space, as well as a modern oven and appliances. A solid wooden dining table and breakfast bar offer plenty of space for guests to enjoy a meal indoors, or for an alfresco experience step outside into the canopied dining area, where you’ll also find outdoor cooking facilities in the form of an impressive wood-burning flame grill.
Villa Timarska’s decorative theme of clean, modern lines and a neutral colour palette continues throughout to the first floor, where you’ll find the bedrooms, bathroom and shower facilities. The rooms are spacious and elegant featuring either king-size or double beds, wardrobes with sliding glass doors, and stylish bedside cabinets, tables and lamps. Framed artworks of the Croatian landscape, and brightly coloured rugs and throws add a pop of colour and contrast beautifully with the fresh white decor and natural flooring. All of the bedrooms benefit from floor to ceiling doors that open out onto the balcony and flood the room with plenty of light, as well as offering guests those incredible views.
The open layout of the villa flows seamlessly to the outside areas, from the canopied dining space where guests can enjoy a meal cooked on the grill, to the swimming pool and jacuzzi. These areas are all beautifully lit at night allowing guests the opportunity for a night time dip, or a relax in the jacuzzi with a glass of something bubbly while enjoying the views of the Adriatic. Villa Timarska is located on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, famous for its Makarska Riviera beaches, seafront promenade, and bustling nightlife. Built around a deep sheltered bay, Makarska is backed by the dramatic rocky heights of Mount Biokovo, which acts as a buffer from the harsher inland climate. As well as basking in the sun and swimming in the azure waters of the Adriatic, hiking and mountain biking is popular in this area with tourists, making this the perfect location for families who want to spend some time exploring as well as relaxing, and there are peddle-boats, banana rides and jet skis for hire too. Northwest along the coast, you’ll find Buba beach bar with its characteristic straw umbrellas and wooden sunbeds, quiet in the mornings the bar gets livelier during the day with DJ music, followed by sunset cocktails, and occasional after-dark concerts.
Makarska is a fishing town, and the locals still making a living from fishing, olive oil production, and winemaking, so there is always the opportunity for visitors to sample some fresh local produce.
In the centre of the town, the main square is overlooked by the Baroque Church of St Mark, and elegant palazzi built by wealthy local merchants. This bustling area has a more cosmopolitan feel than the sleep outskirts, and here you’ll find several open-air restaurants, cafes and pizzerias, as well as the daily market selling seasonal fruits and vegetables. Along the harbour, excursion boats offer day trips to Zlatni Rat beach in Bol on Brac, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Croatian coastline and a favourite spot for surfers and kite-surfers around the globe.
