A modern villa with a timeless sense of style, Villa Urma is 1km from the beach in the Istrian village of Vabriga. Accommodating up to eight guests, this magnificent 4-bedroom villa has a delightful terrace with a large private pool.
On the naturally beautiful Istrian peninsula, Villa Urma has a charming location. On arrival, you will immediately want to enjoy the sun loungers, barbecue and dining areas which you will find on the terrace. Offering privacy and comfort, this part of the property benefits from the region’s reliably warm climate, so you’ll be spending lots of time there.
Step inside, and you have a comfortable living area with seating and satellite TV, plus free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Look out for some artworks from Croatian artists, adding extra character to this space. Also on this level, you have an indoor dining area and kitchen, with sleek units, breakfast bar and a variety of appliances.
Upon the first floor, two beautifully-styled bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, look out over the pool and gardens. One of these has a large balcony which leads down to the pool.
Another two bedrooms, each with a private entrance and a bathroom, are located in the extension of the house, at ground level. These are right beside the pool terrace, so they are perfect if you enjoy an early morning swim, or want a little more privacy.
At only 1km from the beach, the villa is well-placed for exploring the Istrian coast. You have a host of restaurants and bars to discover in Vabriga, Tar and Lanterna, as well as more beaches along the Adriatic coastline.
South of Vabriga, you have the popular resort of Poreč, home of the World Heritage Site Euphrasian Basilica, less than 10 minutes’ drive away. Here you will find lots of visitor-friendly attractions, including an adventure park, an aquarium, a go-karting track and the caves of Grotta Baredine.The village of Vabriga forms part of Tar-Vabriga county on the western side of Croatia’s Istrian peninsula. This naturally beautiful area is perfect as a travel destination with its Adriatic coastline and reliably warm temperatures.
It is these which make it ideal for olive oil production, with the olive oil of Tar-Vabriga considered by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation to be the best in Europe.
This historically rich region is full of old churches and archaeological sites. The church of St Martin in Tar is nowadays known as the location of classical music concerts during the summer. An annual treat since 1998, these free concerts attract high-calibre musicians from Croatia and elsewhere, and are justifiably popular with visitors.
Numerous restaurants in Vabriga, Tar and the coastal area of Lanterna introduce the fine Istrian cuisine – lookout for a variety of fish and seafood dishes, truffles and asparagus on the menus. Much like the olive oil, the area’s wine is top-notch too, with wine-making an essential part of Istria’s culture – in short, don’t miss out on a glass or two.
Around 12km south lies the town of Poreč, which attracts many visitors to its Roman Old Town. You’ll find the remains of temples and fortification walls, and – most significantly – the Episcopal complex of Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Poreč is also known as a great cycling destination, and its central location makes it a good base for further exploration of the region. Rovinj lies around 30km to the south, and it’s not much more than an hour from Italy, with a beautiful slice of Slovenia even closer.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
