Charming 3-bedroom Villa Charissa is located in Pernera, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and all the amenities of Protaras. This well-equipped villa features an outdoor pool with plenty of room around it to relax in the sun.
The terrace centres on a large, rectangular pool with step access. Next to it you have sun loungers and a lovely outdoor dining area, and patio doors lead you inside.
The house features an open-plan living area, incorporating the lounge, dining area and kitchen. You have a sofa and flatscreen TV with satellite channels, as well as a dining table with seating for six. The modern kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and everything else you will need. The house also has air conditioning and offers free Wi-Fi.
Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, one with en suite shower and a veranda, and a third bedroom which has two single beds and a veranda. The main bathroom is on this floor, with a bathtub and overhead shower, while another WC can be found downstairs.
Villa Charissa is a short walk from the beach and local restaurants, bars and shops. It’s a great base for exploring south-eastern Cyprus’ excellent beaches and beautiful areas of nature, with Cape Greco National Park about 10 minutes’ drive from Protaras. Here you’ll find sea caves, the Blue Lagoon, and some wonderful areas of countryside that are perfect for nature walks.
You’ll be just a short drive from the resort of Ayia Napa too. As well as the stunning Nissi Beach, there’s a big water-park and lots of places for kids to play. Larnaca and Nicosia are also within a reasonable driving distance of Protaras.Your villa’s location in Protaras puts a great deal within a short drive, and quite a bit within walking distance. The resort has everything visitors are likely to need, with restaurants of various kinds, bars with outdoor terraces, supermarkets and other essentials. Protaras has lots of amazing beaches and family-friendly attractions, so there will always be plenty to do.
Protaras is well set up for visitors, so there are all sorts of tours you can take. Among them are Jeep safaris, boat trips, catamaran cruises and guided food tours. You can discover Cypriot wines, honeys, olives, cheeses and more on these tempting tours, and see a bit more of the area in the process.
South of Protaras, Cape Greco is well known for its sea caves and Blue Lagoon. It really is idyllic, and If you can find a quiet time to visit, you will be able to appreciate it even more. The Cape Greco area also offers beautiful countryside that’s ideal for walking and cycling, whether you follow a trail or just go with the flow.
Nearby Ayia Napa has interesting historic attractions including a 16th-century monastery and the Makronissos Tombs, only uncovered as recently as 1989. A fascinating museum based around the sea, the Thalassa Museum, offers some fascinating exhibits, with shells and fossils alongside a reconstructed shipwreck and life-size Greek ship. Look out for the town’s intriguing Sculpture Park too.
Thanks to its multiple amusement parks, including a big water-park, Ayia Napa can deliver an excellent family day out. As well as WaterWorld, Parko Paliatso and Dolfins, kids can enjoy sea-faring adventures on the Black Pearl pirate ship and Yellow Submarine.
With a marina, castle and entertainment venues from cinemas to bowling alleys, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Larnaca. Don’t miss the magnificent Salt Lake, a peaceful sanctuary where birds including flamingos can be found, or the Camel Park with 60 camels and dozens more animals. The beautiful CyHerbia Botanical Park, about 20 minutes’ drive from Ayia Napa, is another lovely place to spend the day.
About an hour from Protaras, the old walled city of Famagusta has historic sights like Othello’s Tower and Saint Barnabas Monastery to see, while the abandoned ‘ghost town’ of Varosha provides another interesting sight, albeit one you can only view from outside.
