Welcome to Roche Farmhouse, a luxury holiday home in the Dordogne region of South West France. There are five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom. In addition there is a large farmhouse kitchen and a large living room opening onto a roof terrace with spectacular views over the peaceful valley. The heated saltwater pool, sauna and summer kitchen make this property ideal for outdoor living.
Set on the edge of a small bastide village, the property is a 5 minute walk to the local Boulangerie, epicerie and bar/restaurant.
Roche Farmhouse is located in the Perigord Poupre region of the Dordogne, just 15 minutes south of Bergerac with the River Dordogne and an International Aiprort. The beautiful bastide town of Eymet is 5 minutes to the south and offers a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
The property can accommodate 10 adults and 2 children maximum
The house is built on the site of an old quarry. The main house occupies an elevated position that enjoys a commanding view over a secluded little valley, while the dungeon and pool areas are nestled into what was the blasted rock face – tranquil, private and full of character.
The property lies on the edge of the village, off a lane that leads to the neighbouring village of Razac d’Eymet – this lane also forms the official ‘boucle’ (walking circuit) with the neighbouring villages of Razac, Serres & Montguyard. The stunning bastide town of Eymet is just a 5 minute drive away.
The property is an ideal base to visit the Dordogne valley or any of the beautiful and historical towns such as: Bergerac, Eymet, Villereal, Duras, Monflanquin, Monpazier, Sarlat, Beynac, Rogue-Gageac, Perigueux, Domme, Le Bugue, Monbazillac, Miramont, Beaumont, St Emilion, Bordeaux, Castillon-la-Bataille, Monpazier, Castillonnes, Lauzun, Perigord’s Noir, Vert & Blanc. Catering is available at the chateau by local catering companies (traiteurs) – typically this will cost from 30 euros per person for a 4-course meal. Alternatively, it may be possible to hire a cook from the local village/town who can do any cooking that you wish during your stay – they are also usually happy to buy the food and clear up afterwards.
