You’ll want for nothing at this singular 17th century chateau in the Dordogne, where every room is elegantly appointed and every comfort provided. The on-site caretaker and concierge will greet you with a “Welcome Basket” of foods to keep you until the next afternoon, and every weekday a maid will come in to tidy. Your guests won’t have a care in the word, only curiosity about what treasures lie hidden within this 184 acre estate.
This holiday chateau includes 10 bedrooms split between the main house and a beautifully converted barn. The two spaces are united by a shared private pool, terrace with outdoor kitchen, and gardens (roses, herbs, and fruit trees). To thoroughly explore the tree-lined valley, a walking path will take you around the estate on a 1.5 hour tour.
The surrounding countryside begs to be explored – within 10 minutes of the chateau you’ll find excellent sporting opportunities: golf, horseback riding, canoeing, and tennis. Travel farther to Montignac (22 km) or Périgueux (30 km) for more bustling medieval towns with wonderful markets. To find the centre of the region’s wine production, travel to Bergerac (44 km), where the hillsides beside the Dordogne river are an oenophile’s delight.
Chateau des Truffles is the perfect location for your holiday or rendezvous, whether you just want to get away from it all and become immersed in another part of hidden France, or you want to be busy discovering all that the Perigord region of the Dordogne can offer.  It is known as the valley of 1000 chateaux with endless pretty medieval villages, fine wines, truffles, local markets and spectacular valleys and rivers. Both the Vezere and the Dorgogne rivers offer great kayaking, canoeing and unparalleled views of the countryside.
From the property there is spectacular walking (there is a 1.5 hour circuit through the estate) and much much more. Within 10 minutes of the property there are tennis courts, golf, horseriding and canoeing. Further afield there are interesting villages, gardens and local markets to visit. The local restaurants and auberges come highly recommended for lunches and dinners serving regional specialties as well as high-end dining. The house with its gardens offer a special place to take time out, relax and rejuvenate.Our manager lives in the grounds of the property and is on hand for any questions you may have whether it be about the chateau or the local area. This is, of course, a completely free service which will allow you to be even more relaxed and rested. 
A welcome hamper is included in the price. This will contain your basic first night, first morning needs including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cereal, butter, jam, bread, biscuits, cheese, cold meats and wine of the region. All rates include linen and a 2 hourly cleaning service each weekday morning.

Supplementary services that are offered at additional cost are: Continental breakfast delivered each morning. Other meals can be catered for if requested and sufficient notice is given.

Fire Pit
A splendid area just outside the main house where you can sit outside with a glass of wine, gazing at the stars, enjoying the company of friends and family. Or why not light the Fire Pit and play your favourite music…past guests have spent many evenings chatting and singing the night away!!
Eating Outside or In
There are some wonderful spots to have a meal at the chateau, whether you are sitting inside in the breakfast room or dining room, outside on one of the wonderful terraces or having a picnic on the lawn. Alternatively enjoy a wander through the stunning grounds and find the perfect spot for you.
The Chateau Kitchen Garden
Beside the lake is a wonderful fruit and vegetable garden growing all manner of interesting things!
Stroll alongside the lake and see what fruit and vegetables are growing there. You are welcome to take and enjoy anything ready for harvesting with our compliments.
Aerobics/Fitness Studio
Take time out in the serenity of the studio with the sound of running water and birdsong to do your yoga/Pilates or pump the music up loud as you put yourself through your zumba paces. We have yoga and pilates teachers who regularly visit the Chateau.
Gym
A recent addition to the Chateau is the gym is there for anyone keen to keep fit whilst they are in residence. It is equipped with a treadmill, rowing machine, bench, free weights, punch bag with boxing gloves and ab-frame.
Swimming Pool
Cool off in the pool. Relax and spread out on a sun lounger. The 15m x 8m swimming pool, in its own private area, is well served by a number of deck chairs, sun loungers and parasols. Its own pool house contains a WC and shower. Pool heating is also available for a small extra charge. Swim towels included.
