As soon as you arrive, the charm of this property is evident, offering a carefully considered blend of historical features and modern styles. From the moment you step inside, you are introduced to a bright and airy hallway, with the original period staircase on show. This hall leads into the spacious living areas, where contemporary windows bring the outside in, with constant views out to the luscious garden. The main lounge is beautiful, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to put your feet up and completely relax. Equipped with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, this lovely space is the perfect spot to spend quality time with your loved ones. The kitchen is the heart of the home in at Foxton House, fully-equipped for your use. This impressive room is open-plan with a sociable dining table, where everyone can sit together; a cosy sitting area with a flat screen TV, and huge sliding glass doors out to the terrace! Flooded with light, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. There is also a comfortable twin bedroom on this ground floor and a shower-room. The remaining bedrooms can all be found on the first floor. The master bedroom is truly delightful, boasting a king-size bed, elegant bathroom and a beautiful balcony! The final double bedroom is also an en-suite, and is accessed by a separate staircase, offering a bit more privacy, perfect for older children. There is also a further twin room and a bunk bed room, ideal for kids!
To the rear of the house, there is a beautiful garden, where kids can play and you can enjoy long days outdoors in the summer, maybe even dining outside! Alnmouth beach is located just a five-minute walk from Foxton House, the sandy shores are dog-friendly all year round, perfect for strolling along each day, breathing in the fresh ocean air.
The famous town of Alnwick, is just 10-minute north of the house, where numerous fine restaurants, the world-famous book store ‘Barter Books’, Alnwick Castle and the world class attraction of Alnwick Garden and Treehouse can be found! This is a must visit during your stay, popular with kids and adults alike, it is easy to spend a whole day exploring!
There are several more castles and historical sights, as well as beautiful beaches and countryside to explore nearby. We would also recommend the charming village of Warkworth, located just 4 miles south of Alnmouth, where you will find a fabulous range of pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and art galleries. The magnificent castle is fascinating to explore and there are beautiful riverside walks, where the River Coquet encircles the village before meandering out to sea.
