Villa Buona Italy

Welcome to the beautiful Villa Buona, only a two minute walk from the main piazza. The villa was created by a trained hotelier who lives nearby, from part of a 14th century church.
Nestled against the town walls of Spello, Villa Buona is situated between the ancient gates of Porta del Mastro and Porta Prato.
The enchanting villa is built of fine pink-tinted stone which is up to one meter thick in places. The villa is cool in summer, with no need for air conditioning, and warm in the winter.
Villa Buona has been decorated with great care and attention to detail. It is filled with a collection of interesting eclectic rugs, textiles and furniture from the owner’s travels.
The owner has created an outstanding home away from home, allowing guests to feel relaxed and comfortable.
For larger groups, Villa Buona can be rented with the cottage La Casetta which has space for an additional three guests.The region of Umbria is known as the ‘green heart of Italy. It is one of the finest holiday destinations, not only in Italy but also in the whole of Europe. Umbria is a land of spectacular, pristine, and largely rural landscapes, rolling wooded hills, mountains, valleys, and sublime art and architecture.
Only a 2 hour drive from Rome and just 8 kms from Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, is the enchanting hillside town of Spello. Quiet and elegant with excellent restaurants famed for typical robust Umbrian cuisine and fine wines, Spello is the ideal base from which to discover and explore this extraordinary part of Italy.
Within easy reach are the famous hill towns of Orvieto, with its legendary cathedral, Todi, Città di Castello, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and the highly praised wine producing region of Montefalco. For those who are adventurous, outdoor activities abundant in the area. There are many historical buildings in Spello.
