Masseria la Chiesetta was originally built in the seventeenth century, formerly owned by one of the region’s most pre-eminent noble families, and following an exquisite renovation now blends the very best of old and new!
This stunning home is nestled alongside the church of San Nicola, in one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, Specchia, to provide a gloriously secluded and timeless home in the heart of the Lecce province.
Guests will know they are in for something special, from the moment they come across the restored Burmese teak grand front door, set in the ancient stone original architecture.
Beautifully restored, the owners have travelled the world and adorned this glorious home with artefacts from Asia and beyond, offering a peaceful, tranquil haven of style and simplicity.
Fully executed for family living, there is a dining table for twelve, whilst the kitchen provides all the modern touches such as dishwasher, coffee machine, to make self-catering simple.
The entire villa has floor cooling system making Masseria la Chiesetta a refreshing, secluded haven during the summer months.
Contemporary comforts and glamorous touches blend alongside the original seventeenth-century features, such as underfloor heating and cooling.
Ten guests can be accommodated across five sumptuous double bedrooms, each with an ensuite, one of which has its own kitchenette (making it ideal for a nanny or au pair.)

When illuminated at night, the courtyard imbibes a sense of the history surrounding this home, the ancient and original stonework and elegant simplicity offer a beautiful backlit and magical atmosphere surround by fragrant trees and unspoilt tranquillity.

Specchia has been voted as one of Italy’s prettiest villages! Set within the Lecce province, this is a slice of genuine and unspoilt Southern Italy.
The nearest beach, Marina di Andrano is some fourteen kilometres distance. The closest restaurants and amenities are just a few hundred yards away.
Specchia is lined with elegant, imposing palaces and historic churches, whilst in the summer, bars and restaurants spill out onto piazzas and pavements, and small independent food shops tempt passers-by with their local specialities.
Specchia is in the “heel” of Italy, in the very heart of Puglia with its wonderful soft light and far-reaching horizons; with the Ionian Sea on one side and the Adriatic on the other, there are miles upon miles of golden beaches.
The region is known for its olive oil production, as evidenced by the surrounding stretches of olive groves as well as its distinctive white-washed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and hundreds of kilometres of Mediterranean coastline.
The capital Bari is a vibrant port and university town, whilst Lecce is the ‘Florence of the south’ – known for its baroque architecture and “trulli” – stone huts with cone-shaped roofs that were originally homes; today they can be visited in their preserved form, and provide something of a fairy tale-esque experience for younger members of the group!
