Tenuta I Pagliari is a stunning, luminescent, architecturally prestigious home, just south of Taranto, close to some of Puglia’s most beautiful beaches and azure waters.
Tenuta I Pagliari was designed by the internationally renowned architect, Giuseppe Militia, whose works can be seen from the glittering coast around Cannes to New York’s Madison Avenue.
This home is infused with beautiful natural daylight at every angle; the angular construct enables the indoors and outdoors to blend seamlessly.
The villa and its annexe sleep up to ten people across five double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Combining old and new, the villa retains original stone foundations and the central area which dates back to the eighteenth century when the building was still a traditional pagliara Salentina: a stone shelter with a thatched roof that was used by local peasants and their animals.
Remaining both sympathetic to the original home and structure, while breathing new life into the villa, the result is a spectacular glass fronted home – entirely in keeping with the local surroundings and elements of nature.
The outdoor spaces at this home are sublime: secluded, tranquil and offering the utmost in privacy, guests will enter their world of impeccable taste and glamour – understated luxury and old-school charm and style!

The region is known for its olive oil production, as evidenced by the surrounding stretches of olive groves.
Puglia, a southern region forming the heel of Italy’s “boot” is known for its distinctive white-washed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and hundreds of kilometres of Mediterranean coastline.
The capital Bari is a vibrant port and university town, whilst Lecce is the ‘Florence of the south’ – known for its baroque architecture and “Trulli” – stone huts with cone-shaped roofs that were initially homes; today they can be visited in their preserved form, and provide something of a fairy tale-esque experience for younger members of the group!
