Villa Bonaparte Italy
Holiday Home Rental Description
Having been passed down through generations of the famous Napoleon Bonaparte’s family, this exquisitely restored villa in Tuscany offers a unique taste of history while providing a relaxing and perfectly situated home base from which to explore the region.
While the historic villa has been updated to include modern amenities and all the comforts of home, you’ll find many period features and original furnishings from the 1800s throughout. The elegant living space holds a gorgeous fireplace and plush sofas for relaxing, along with a polished salon, and the stylish kitchen and dining areas are perfectly appointed to host formal or casual Tuscan feasts.
Six spacious bedrooms each boast a distinctive style and conveniently include en suite bathrooms and satellite TV.
The exterior grounds, with its lush garden, cascading swimming pool and beautiful terrace with open-air dining, is naturally a big draw at Villa Bonaparte – especially with towering trees and verdant landscapes to fill your view.
The villa is ideally located to explore the rich art, history and culture of many important cities in Tuscany, with Florence and Pisa just 20-minute drive. If visiting in November, do not miss the famous white truffle festival in San Miniato, just 3km away! Villa Bonaparte is part of a group of buildings and lands on the “Bonaparte Knoll”. It is an ancient property of the Bonaparte family in San Miniato.
In 1701, Maria Maddalena Bonaparte received the land as a dowry gift when getting married to a noble Bonaccorsi. In 1805, the country-house was given to the present owner’s family, and it still to this day maintains the historical documentation and original furniture. Today, the property has been completely restored, and it is an exclusive residence for those looking for a relaxing holiday in a historic setting.
Next to the country house are many villages rich in history and cultural sites, including fortifications and towers surrounded by evocative landscape. Thanks to Villa Bonaparte’s favourable geographic position, it is possible to reach in less than one hour all the main artistic cities of Tuscany.
