Perched high on the hills in the endlessly undulating terrain of rural Tuscany, Villa Anjelica offers luxury accommodation for up to 20 guests in this breath-takingly scenic landscape.
From the moment you enter the dazzling entrance hall, the villa embodies the traditional Lucchese style, with delightful terracotta floors and fabulous chestnut beamed ceilings oozing rustic charm and an elegant sense of history. Alongside this, the light and airy design, modern furniture and décor, WiFi throughout, plasma TVs and other thoughtful touches create a contemporary comfort. The spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, together with the extra services available make it ideal for large groups, while a separate study and TV room ensure everybody has the space they need to relax, unwind and enjoy their holiday in their own special way. In the living room you will find a gorgeous array of furniture and plants in front of the beautiful wood-burning fireplace, fusing Scandi style with traditional charm.
A local chef is available to prepare authentic Tuscan cuisine using fresh, local produce, should you wish, whilst there is a vastly spacious and well-equipped kitchen in both the main house and barn annexe for those who prefer to prepare meals themselves. The house has a cold drinks fridge which is kept supplied with beer and bottle water, and a wine cellar stocked with a range of Italian wines, both of which are operated on an honesty basis.
In the main building you will find one bedroom on the ground floor and seven more on the first floor, with two more in the delightful converted barn. All ten rooms are remarkable, with high ceilings, big windows and plenty of space to enjoy a little alone time. Eight of the rooms have wonderful ensuite facilities, all of which are modern and elegant. There are mosquito screens in each bedroom.
Outside, you will find many more cosy seating and dining areas among the olive groves, vineyards and cypress trees to relax. The 12 by 6-meter swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers, the private tennis courts and of course the brilliantly equipped gym all offer guests a spot to unwind and clear the mind. There’s even a beautiful 16th century chapel on site, providing the perfect location for weddings.
The beautifully remote location and vast garden offers guests the utmost privacy, as well as a thoroughly tranquil atmosphere. This incredible villa is perfectly located to both enjoy the tranquil calm of the Tuscan countryside and to visit the famous art cities of Florence, about 85km away, or Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage site, just a little further afield, ideal for a day trip! In the area, you will find plenty of opportunities for wine tasting, as a world-famous wine (and olive oil!) producing region, celebrated by Verdi, Michelangelo and many others.
Within just half an hour you can explore Pisa, Viareggio and Montecatini Terme! While the Marble Mountains, ideal for a hike, are just 20km away, and the Parco Naturale Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli, alongside many beaches, is a short drive away.
