Rental Description

This beautiful, detached villa was developed after the total restoration of a grain mill that dates back to 1606. The origins of the mill are uncertain but it was probably in operation during the same period that the Abbey di Sant’Antimo was built and probably provided flour to the abbey monks.
Every detail of the building has been restored with care, and the mill today looks like it was taken directly from a book of fairy tales. It has a little arched bridge and small stream leading to its entrance.
The private, 7 x 10 m swimming pool is the only external modern feature. It has been set into the original mill course located above in the grounds.
The mill lies in a green valley surrounded by soft hills. The olive groves, fruit trees and surrounding woodlands provide a peaceful and private haven, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the local area and trying the delicious Tuscan food and wine.Visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art and others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the simple but wonderful cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, and summer vacationers the sea coast and islands. Students come to learn the beautiful Italian language and culture.
Lying south of Siena, local shops and restaurants can be found 1.5 km away in the village of Castelnuovo Dell’abate. Montalcino, famous for its Brunello wine, is 9 km away. The famous cities of Siena (57 km) and Florence (120 km) are within easy distance for day trips.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
