Maison Du Jardin France

Maison Du Jardin dates back to the late 15th century. It is designed in the style of a “Classic Fortified Manor”. Local legend states that the main tower was once taller, however during the French Revolution it was reduced.
The property is enclosed and walled, which allows for extra privacy. There is a wonderful large saltwater lap pool, with new high end sun chaises.
The Guest house or original Dovecot is comfortable and independent with its own kitchen and bathroom, yet romantic with its lofty bedroom. Next to the “Dovecot” is a “bunkroom”, small and private room for a single guest who likes to “do their own thing”. The bunk room has its own bathroom.
The main house is comfortable and elegant. Most furnishings are from the 18th century. Many furnishings are brand new and very comfortable. The Kitchen with AGA stove allows you to fine tune your French cooking skills! The Kitchen has a large solid oak dining table.
All spaces are uncluttered and have wonderful views of the surrounding fields. The house, because of its ancient construction, stays comfortable and cool day and night. This property allows its guests to experience living in a time that has long past with all modern comforts and conveniences.  
Tranquillity, fragrance and sun will rejuvenate you very quickly at Maison Du Jardin. The enclosed/walled estate allows for guests to dine alfresco, lounge in the lawn on comfortable Hugonet furniture, play a game of Badminton, work on a project in the pavilion or sunbathe next to the saltwater lap pool.
Morning visits to the local bakery will ensure you will have buttery croissants in the morning with your French pressed coffee. Morning laps in the pool may be rewarded with a large French Provincial Lunch later. There are plenty of places to take a nap either outside or back in your room.The closest village is Saint Gervais les trios Clochers, Here you will find a butcher, pastry shop, hairdresser, post, tabac and small grocery market.
There are many other towns and villages within a short 8km distance from the Maison. One favorite is Richelieu, where there is a small hotel, many restaurants, a flower shop and huge historical importance.
Chinon is about 23km away.
