Admire the pastel-coloured fishing cottages, the glamourous boutiques and the fine restaurants of this charming yet prestigious destination. Or head inland to one of the French Riviera’s authentic hilltop villages such as historic Ramatuelle with its pretty lanes, art galleries, traditional restaurants and excellent wine cellars where you can try some of Provence’s best wines.
The Côte d’Azur offers great walking, fantastic cycling and some especially fine golf-courses, as well as amazing boat trips to the surrounding coastline. This is a glorious part of southern France and Villa Lumineuse is perfectly positioned to make the most of this captivating region. Pampelonne beach is one of the most famous beaches in Saint-Tropez. See A-list celebrities at the exclusive beach clubs, gaze at yachts in the bay and enjoy the sandy shores and turquoise waters of this 5km long beach. If you wish to reserve a sun lounger or dine at one of the nearby beach clubs, it is best to do so in advance during the height of the summer.
It goes without saying that you’ll find a great choice of watersports along the gulf, especially along Pampelonne beach, from jet-skiing, wakeboarding and parasailing to paddle-boarding and snorkelling. The gulf is also well known for its wreck dives and you can also learn to sail in Saint Tropez.
If you wish to explore some of the coast’s other beautiful beaches, to the north you will find the more tranquil Plage de Salins with a lovely restaurant on the beach and there are also some tiny beaches in and around the old village of Saint-Tropez. It’s also only half-an-hour drive south to beautifully unspoilt areas such as the six kilometres of La Croix Valmer coastline where you will find some stunning walks surrounded by diverse flora and fauna.
The charming fishing village of Saint-Tropez is a 10-minute drive or taxi ride away. It has a glamourous reputation but it is also well-known for its winding medieval streets, traditional pastel-painted fishermen’s cottages, boutiques and restaurants. In the delightful port you can see the fishing boats moored alongside luxurious yachts.
For a change in pace from the glitzy and sometimes hectic Côte d’Azur, head inland to some of the region’s most idyllic villages such as nearby Ramatuelle (5.5km). Surrounded by vineyards, Ramatuelle is an authentic hilltop village with wonderful views over Pampelonne bay. Explore the narrow lanes, visit one of the art galleries and admire the historic buildings. There are traditional restaurants to dine in and excellent wine cellars where you taste some of Provence’s finest wines. Thursday is market day and there are other events taking place across the year from comedy festivals to jazz concerts. 
Other villages to discover include Grimaud (15km) with its flower-filled cobbled streets and a lovely weekly antique market every Sunday as well as Gassin (12km) and Bormes les Mimosas (38km), both with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and Côte d’Azur.
This is a fantastic region for outdoor activities whether you can imagine yourself playing golf on some of the French Riviera’s finest greens or riding horseback along the coast or stunning hinterland. Families can try out paintballing, go-karting, tennis clubs and water parks in the surrounding region, not to mention some amazing boat trips from Saint-Tropez from sightseeing along the coast to whale watching in the Mediterranean.
There is also some great hiking along coastal paths or in the beautiful hinterland.
