Maison Sentier is a superb villa in a fantastic location close to both idyllic hilltop villages and towns as well as the glorious sandy beaches of the French Riviera, just a short drive from bustling Cannes.
A bright and welcoming family home, there is ample space across the various levels of Maison Sentier. The large living room with its high ceilings and impressive fireplace is the place to meet for relaxed evenings playing chess or chatting with good company and wine. Five pretty bedrooms in the main house are comfy, some with en-suite bathrooms. On the lower floors three of the charming doubles lead out to the garden or terrace whilst upstairs one bedroom has its own terrace, perfect for a quiet sundowner as the evening nears. For anyone looking for a little independence, a delightful annexe with a sixth bedroom can be found in the grounds.
The gardens are great with so much to explore – find a tranquil corner looking over the picturesque surroundings, wander down the steps and paths to discover the little lake and relax under the pergola with a glass of local wine whilst you watch a game of tennis on your very own private court. Bathe in your swimming pool gazing out towards the mountains in this wonderful setting.
There’s a traditional little village very close by with characterful houses and flower-filled lanes or you can drive a little further to the hilltop town of Mougins, well-known for its gastronomy and art galleries. Other idyllic places to explore include Grasse, Opio and Valbonne or visit the stunning landscapes of Parc de la Valmasque for wonderful walks and birdwatching. Golf-lovers have a choice of so many excellent courses in the region including one of the most prestigious, the Royal Mougins Golf Resort, just a short distance away.
The French Riviera is also within such easy reach with its sandy beaches, watersports and glistening sea. Within a short drive you can be wandering along the famous promenade in Cannes and admiring the glitz and glamour around you or take a boat trip out to discover more of the Côte d’Azur. Antibes with its pretty old town, lovely beaches and family attractions is also nearby, as are the cliff-backed beaches of Théoule-sur-Mer.
Adored by artists, nature-lovers and sun-worshippers alike, this part of the French Riviera offers something for everyone with its enchanting landscapes and celebrated coastline. In a residential area just north of Cannes, close to a pretty village, Maison Sentier has a fantastic location near some of the most wonderful parts of the French Riviera.
The local village is a picturesque place for a stroll to soak up the characterful ambience and gaze at the amazing views towards the Mediterranean. Admire streets filled with summer flowers and many original houses with lovely gardens. Look out for village festivities across the year as well. There’s a pizza place in the village and a café-bar whilst there is also a wider range of amenities such as a supermarket, banks etc.
You are also close to the delightful hilltop town of Mougins which is well known for its excellent restaurants – indeed the town hosts the annual Festival of Gastronomy each June. Wander around the medieval lanes with charming shops, art galleries and studios and learn why Mougins has been inspiring artists for generations – Pablo Picasso lived here in the latter part of his life. A visit to the Mougins Museum of Classical Art is a must for art-lovers.
To the south, drive down to Cannes and experience the glitzy atmosphere across this city as you wander along La Croisette, the famous promenade. There are yet more wonderful restaurants and shops as well as sandy beaches. Boat trips depart from the marina, some taking you on excursions to discover the glistening Côte d’Azur, others out to the idyllic Îles de Lérins. In the height of the summer you can even take ferries as far as Monaco or St-Tropez.
The French Riviera is of course famous for its exceptional coastline. As well as the beaches in and around Cannes, you will also find wonderful coastal settings in Théoule-sur-Mer and Cap d’Antibes. There is also a wealth of watersports in and around Cannes and plenty to keep families occupied in the summer with waterparks, funfairs and amusement parks, especially around Antibes.
Yet this region isn’t just about amazing beaches and historic towns – the landscapes of the hinterland are also incredible, such as in the nearby Parc de la Valmasque, around a ten-minute drive away. Discover hiking and mountain bike trails, nature walks, bird-watching as well as wonderful areas for children to play in stunning surroundings. Furthermore, golf-lovers are close to one of the French Riveira’s most prestigious golf courses, the Royal Mougins Golf and Spa Resort.
