Offering a superb view of Aselinos Beach, just 70m away, Villa Alexio 2 has all you need for an idyllic break on Skiathos. Sleeping up to six guests, this property is ideal for a small family or group of friends, and has its own private pool and spacious garden right outside.
On the north-western coast of the island, Villa Alexio 2 enjoys a peaceful location. You have a lovely view of the beach and the Aegean Sea from the garden, which features a children’s play area along with a sun terrace with loungers and a barbecue. The private pool is a real highlight and easy to access from your bedroom for an early morning swim.
Inside, a spacious, open-plan living area on the upper floor incorporates a lounge with comfy seating and a TV with DVD and satellite channels. A dining seats six, and the adjacent kitchen has everything likely to need, including an oven, kettle and a large fridge freezer. Step out to the upper balcony terrace and a wonderful ocean view awaits you, along with a table and chairs.
A double and twin bedroom can be found on the lower level, both with direct access to the balcony area beside the pool. There is also a bathroom with a spacious shower on the upper floor. Air-conditioning and Wi-Fi are both available at Villa Alexio 2, and there is parking on site.
At just 25 minutes from Skiathos International Airport, the villa is easily accessible, and most of the island’s sights are within a similar distance. On the west side, you will find some of its most popular beaches like Banana and Koukounaries, both within 20 minutes of the villa.
For nightlife and a host of great places to eat, Skiathos town is the place to go. Down on the south coast, this pretty town is accessible by water-taxi and has a few sights that may look familiar – parts of the film Mamma Mia! were filmed there.Surrounded by the crystal blue waters of the Aegean, charming Skiathos is a Greek island gem which does beach lovers proud. With 60 of them to choose from, you may need to return a few times to discover them all, but that won’t be a hardship. With picturesque forests and green hills covering much of the island, it’s a joy to travel on land as well as by sea.
On the southern coast, you will find Skiathos town itself, sometimes referred to as the Chora. This is an idyllic spot with a touch of waterfront glamour, and certainly the centre for the island’s nightlife. If you’re after late-night bars and all-night clubs, you need to be in Skiathos town. It also has its share of restaurants, some high-end, some tourist trap and some irresistibly homely – look away from the prime spots and you may find a hidden gem in the form of a family-run taverna.
Wandering around the Old Town, with its jumbled alleys and little streets, could keep you occupied for some time. There are plenty of shops and cafés to distract you and encourage you to linger a little longer. Head on up to the Agios Nikolaos clock tower, one of the town’s most recognisable landmarks, and you will be rewarded with a stunning view as far as the neighbouring island, Skopelos.
The island is easy enough to get around, with regular bus service on the main routes, and driving distances are rarely much more than 30-40 minutes. You may also be able to grab a water-taxi, a wonderfully scenic way to see Skiathos. It’s ideal for beach-hopping – the big-name beaches like Koukounaries and Banana lie on the western coast, while some of the quieter and less accessible ones are up north.
