Villa Reginos Greece
Holiday Home Rental Description
Set high on a cliff ledge, overlooking picturesque Skopelos Town and the glittering Aegean, three-bedroomed Villa Reginos has soul-restoring views and easy access to the coastline. Relax and survey the breath-taking panoramas from your terrace or the serenity of your private infinity pool. The old Greek fishing village turned capital of the island, still retains its unspoilt ambience and laid-back charm, providing the perfect holiday spot to escape the stresses of everyday life or to go exploring.
The building is a delightful mix of classic Greek and modern with rustic exposed stone, a dazzlingly whitewashed facade and a traditionally Mediterranean slate-tiled roof. Inside, the spacious split-level stay is bright and welcoming. It’s decorated with calming ocean hues and vibrant orange furnishings, with colourful artwork and dark wooden furniture adding extra homely warmth.
Entertainment options are plentiful with a television and DVD player inside the villa and effortless access to the town with restaurants, shops and an ancient Venetian castle. On the ground floor, the generous open-plan living and dining space has a charming fireplace, comfortable seating and doors opening onto the terrace with an al fresco dining table. There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen for a home-from-home stay, two double bedrooms, each with doors to a shared balcony and a twin room.
Outside, the coastal-facing infinity pool is an ideal gathering spot for family and friends, with a bank of sun loungers in prime position for the best blue views. Grecian urns filled with pretty geraniums sit alongside olive trees, creating not only an air of tranquillity and harmony but privacy and seclusion. Although you’ll feel like you’re a world away from civilisation, the upper part of the town with bars and restaurants, and steps that bring you right down to the harbour is only 2.3km away.
From picturesque whitewashed houses spread up the hillside to the cobalt blue of the Aegean Sea, Villa Reginos enjoys a breath-taking location looking directly out to the island’s capital. Comfortably sleeping up to six guests, it’s the perfect villa for families, friends and couples alike.
Villa Reginos is set high in the cliffside, overlooking the charming whitewashed building-lined Skopelos town and the sparkling Aegean Sea. Inland, olive groves, orchards and pine forests are honeycombed with scenic walking trails, and along the coast, beaches come in every type and shape, from pebble bays with mountain views to cliff-framed coves that can only be reached by boat.
Nearby beaches from the villa include Glyfoneri, 2.5km away, and Glysteri, 5km, while the upper part of Skopelos Town with its local bars and restaurants is a short 2.3km walk from the villa.
It’d be a crime to visit Skopelos Town without exploring its old town. Here, narrow streets lined with quaint cottages and boutiques stretch up to the ancient Venetian fortress. Climb to the top for unspoiled views of the harbour and the Aegean. There’s also a beautiful collection of jewellery and souvenir shops, reflecting the sophisticated side of Skopelos. Come nightfall, the city springs into life, with local bars and restaurants open until late. For authentic Greek cuisine, look out for fresh seafood and traditional moussaka (baked layers of eggplant or zucchini, minced meat and potato).
Skopelos is also laden with exciting monasteries and churches or you to discover. The Evangelistria Monastery is a top choice on Mount Poalouki. For exploring further, you can head south to the village of Stafilos. It’s nestled in the middle of a valley and is blanketed in pine trees. Houses there are draped in beautiful bougainvillaea flowers, and there’s a picturesque bay. Agios Ioannis is also not be missed. It’s a white chapel perched on a rock and featured in the film ‘Mamma Mia’. Walk the 105 steps to the summit for gasp-worthy views.
You can also jump on a boat from Skopelos harbour. Just under an hour away is the island of Alonnisos with fantastic scenery. You can wander around the pretty port, an islet topped by a Byzantine monastery, and explore the Blue Cave – a mysterious sea cavern that you can sail through.
