Villa Cortez Spain
Holiday Home Rental Description
Nestled amongst the green hills in the most northern part of the island, Villa Cortez is a beautiful country villa. If you want to experience the slower, more traditional side to Ibizan life, surrounded by exquisite natural beauty, look no further.
Villa Cortez sleeps up to eight guests in a charming yet luxurious style. Three of the four bedrooms are found in the main villa, the fourth being in the self-contained cottage within the gardens. All bedrooms have double beds, en-suite bathrooms and tasteful, rustic furnishings.
The separate cottage is impossibly quaint. The open plan living and sleeping area reveal old stone, wooden slatted ceiling and terracotta floor. It includes its bathroom and kitchenette.
Back in the main house, the carefully designed interior is rustic and inviting. The delightful lounge provides plenty of comfortable seating for relaxed moments together, and the country dining room connects to the small but perfectly equipped kitchen.
Villa Cortez has an endearing, cosy, family-feel, while still offering all the privileges expected of a luxury villa occupying such a prestigious, hilltop position.
Step outside onto your cool and perfectly shaded dining terrace. This is your dream-like spot for admiring the fabulous view and surveying your pool terrace and sun deck. Dine al fresco here, morning, noon and night. Villa Cortez has a second outdoor dining area, alongside the house in a charming courtyard setting, complete with a built-in barbecue and canvas canopy.
Your private pool is the irresistible centre-piece to your outdoor space. With steps leading you down into the shallow end, family and friends can splash and swim all day long in the lovely refreshing water. The surrounding terrace is adorned with sumptuous sun beds, umbrellas, a pergola covered double bed for gazing out onto the hills and a large, raised seating area for staying cool.
There’s also a pool-side shower for freshening up before lunch. You’re surrounded by soothing colour on Villa Cortez’s terrace. Cream stone floor, the turquoise of the pool, dazzling white villa walls, green countryside and a bright blue sky. Heaven.
As the sun starts to dip, head to the northernmost corner of your hillside estate. Hidden amongst the trees, you’ll find a purpose-built viewing platform. This indulgent viewing bed is where you will come, at the end of another perfect day, for a view of Ibiza’s very best sunsets.
If you can bear to leave her enchanting confines, Villa Cortez is not far from the lovely and traditional village of San Juan. Your closest beaches are Cala Xarraca and Cala Xuclar, Benirras and Cala San Vicente. All are within a few kilometres’ drives. Or the sharply contrasting buzz and vibe of Ibiza Town’s legendary nightlife is only a thirty-minute drive. You can’t travel much further north in Ibiza than San Juan. This delightful village encapsulates all the reasons why so many visitors come to this island for tranquil, restorative holidays. The area surrounding San Juan is rural, traditional and reassuringly laid-back. It also happens to be stunningly beautiful.Villa Cortez enjoys one of the best views of the natural rock formation known locally as ‘God’s finger’ – a jagged piece of rock jutting out of the sea off Benirras beach. You’ll need to drive down a steep, winding road to get here, but it’s worth the journey. This sandy, sheltered beach is also reputed for hippie drumming performances most evenings, creating an atmospheric Ibizan vibe, northern style. The crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, there’s a lifeguard during the summer, sun beds and umbrellas for hire, and a beach bar serving welcome refreshments. San Juan village is a mix of rural, traditional influences, hippie arts and crafts, wonderful restaurants serving local dishes, shops and pavement cafes. The main street is cobbled, lined with traditional houses and tucked-away bars for a cool, afternoon beer. Every Sunday the square fills with market stalls selling locally grown or produced goods including bread, fruit, leather goods and jewellery. Bands often provide a musical backdrop, so it’s an entertaining spot to sit, have some lunch and people watch. Boat trips are the perfect way to admire the island’s spectacular cliffs, shoreline and caves. Book yours from the harbour at Portinatx. These full day tours take you past stunning beaches, hidden caves and outlying islands, and include a stop-off in Old Ibiza Town and picnic lunch.
