With its open rooftop machans and large wooden decks that overlook the shady nullah, guests to Baghvan Jungle Lodge are constantly immersed in the sights and sounds of the Indian jungle.
Rich birdlife flits through the trees overhanging your machan and monkeys chatter excitedly in the dense foliage. The sounds of the jungle filter through the night and you drift off to sleep to the distant yipping of jackal. The sandy bed of the dry nullah provides a clear path through the dense jungle for the forest’s inhabitants and guests needn’t be surprised to find a sambar deer on their doorstep in the morning.
Your personal wake-up call will deliver fresh fruit juice, tea and coffee to your bungalow before your morning game drive. Enjoy a morning full of adventure in Pench National Park, which could include catching sight of a tiger.
While out on game drive, enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast, complete with freshly brewed coffee, as well as Indian delicacies like kathi rolls stuffed with chicken, lamb or vegetables or homemade pancakes with potato, paneer and cauliflower called parathas.

Afternoon Game Drive
Enter the teak jungles of Pench once again on your afternoon game drive. Look out for gaur, sambar and chital coming down to drink at the many jungle streams. Tiger and leopard are getting ready for the hunt and you may be lucky enough to spot one of these beautiful predators.
Here Be Tigers
A rare species, tigers are highly territorial and solitary. The dense jungle they favour and their exceptional camouflage makes them notoriously difficult to spot. With its rusty red coat, white markings and black stripes, the tiger is perhaps the most glamorous jungle animal.
A glimpse of this beautiful animal in the wild is a truly rewarding sight. Tigers will only inhabit territory where plenty of prey is found, and prefer to hunt at night, rarely being spotted stalking their prey. During the heat of the Indian day, they may be seen cooling off in pools or rivers and are excellent swimmers.
Giants of the grasslands, Indian gaur are the largest wild bovines in the world. The handsome, muscular males of this wild ox, with their jet black coats, can weigh up to 1 000 kg (2 205 lb). The females are smaller, with coffee coloured coats, and both sexes sport white markings below the knees that resemble stockings.
