Due to the villa’s location, Calypso Shores is perfect for lovers of water, with a range of exhilarating and fun water sports to try. The Houseboat Grill is just five minutes away and allows visitors to sit in the open air while looking out onto the calm waters due to it being situated in the middle of the water. The venue provides a truly once in a lifetime dining experience, with such an enchanting ambience you almost forget about the food. Though the menu is equally captivating. Some of the stand out dishes include grilled octopus, stuffed jalapeño and shrimp skewers, and chocolate lava cake and banana cake for dessert. It’s best to make a reservation at this popular spot!
Rose Hall Plantation is a 23-minute drive away from Calypso Shores and offers day and eerie night tours. Rose Hall is one of the largest great houses in Jamaica and was built in 1770. Today, it’s not only visited for its grandiose beauty, but for its history and legacy. During the 1800’s, John Rose Palmer lived in the house with his wife Annee who was thought to possess black magic powers, which she used to destroy John and her two husbands that came after him. This led to her being known as ‘The White Witch of Rose Hall’ and some claim to see Annee’s ghost still haunting the great house.
Jamaica’s famed Hip Strip is a short 9-minute drive away from the villa and is a busy a lively strip and the place to go for unique souvenirs.
